From support@xmission.com Wed Dec 31 12:16:34 MST 2008 Date: Wed, 31 Dec 2008 12:16:34 MST From: XMission SupportTo: announce@xmission.com Subject: DIRECT ANNOUNCE: Change of IP Address for mail.xmission.com Status: RO Change of IP Address for mail.xmission.com ------------------------------------------ If you are receiving this announcement, it means that your account has recently accessed the old IP address for mail.xmission.com at 198.60.22.200 and that you probably have that IP configured in your mail software. Details ------- XMission has moved mail.xmission.com behind our LVS loadbalancing server that houses the rest of our mail system. This has required us to change the IP address of mail.xmission.com from 198.60.22.200 to 166.70.12.10. To avoid an interruption in your mail service, you will need to change the settings in your email software to reference "mail.xmission.com" or "166.70.12.10" for both incoming (pop/imap), and outgoing mail (smtp) servers. Any references to 198.60.22.200 should be replaced with either "mail.xmission.com" or "166.70.12.10". We strongly urge you to use "mail.xmission.com" as this name will always point to the current address of our mail server, preventing any future IP address changes from impacting your service. If your mail client is set to "mail.xmission.com", you should not need to make any changes, however, our logs indicate that email software associated with your account may be using 198.60.22.200. The new IP was put into service a few months ago. The change should not have impacted any customers; however, on Thursday, January 8th we will finally be decommissioning the old IP address. If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact XMission support at 1-877-XMISSION or by email at support@xmission.com. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- This is an XMission Direct Announcement.
