From support@xmission.com Tue Sep 15 09:48:15 MDT 2009 Date: Tue, 15 Sep 2009 09:48:14 MDT From: XMission SupportTo: announce@xmission.com Subject: ANNOUNCEMENT: XMission Upgrades Phone System Status: RO XMission Upgrades Phone System ------------------------------ This Summer, XMission is happy to announce that we have developed a new phone system. The new system is a big improvement over our older one, with new features and slightly different menu options, and we hope they make it easier for you to get the help you need. Details ------- We built both using Asterisk, the open source telephony platform. Our previous PBX (Private Branch eXchange) system was developed internally, using a very early version of Asterisk: 1.0 CVS. In fact, we had to do quite a lot of development to get it to handle our queues properly and ended up contributing code to the project. This new version is based on the current Asterisk trunk and is much more stable while providing many new features, which we are looking forward to implementing in the months ahead. Conclusion ---------- We apologize to anyone who has experienced problems or dropped calls as we tested and deployed the new phone system. Thank you for your patience. Lastly, if you have any problems with our new phone system or really like something, please let us know. Keep up with XMission via Twitter. Ask us questions, or let us know what we can do to improve your service! http://twitter.com/xmission ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This has been an XMission Announcement. What our customers are saying:
—Matthew Reinbold“Just wanted to give you props for your Tech Support crew. I was going to call this afternoon and saw the link for the online chat help. I gave it a try and whoever you have named nacre was super polite, responsive, and helpful. All around a great experience.”
