XMission uses the industry standard 95th Percentile model to bill for bandwidth. This allows you to only pay for the bandwidth you use while offering the benefits of faster speed and greater throughput.

To determine your billable utilization, otherwise known as your “95th percentile rate,” XMission measures your bandwidth usage at regular intervals over a 30.5 period. At the end of the period, XMission will discard the top 5% of your inbound and outbound bandwidth samples separately (approximately 36 hours worth of traffic). The remaining measurement becomes your 95th percentile rate.

If your 95th Percentile Rate exceeds your Committed Data Rate (CDR), XMission will post-bill you for any overages at the CDR price per Megabit.
