But given her state of shock, lack of weapons, and previous loving feelings , I think Angel could have fought her off had he chosen to remain and she had attacked him. But "maybe I'm underestimating her" (after all, she *did* throw him through a plate glass window in a state of shock). And IMO, Angel was probably as confused and frightened as she when he jumped out that window. I don't think Buffy would be so much in love with anyone to let them walk on her (I don't think she would have bared her neck to him in the Bronze if she weren't certain by then he would refuse it). Just my rambling op. You know, it's weird. I feel like I'm now defending an accused wife-beater or something. But IMO he hasn't really done anything to warrant that label yet (his lame attempts at attacking her in the Bronze were pretty natural given she was trying to kill him for something he didn't do and that he had a death wish). When she missed him with the crossbow, he even said in a humorous casual deadpan "a little wide..." as though speaking to a friend. Not really an out of control monster to me. Plus one Question :) Hi Guys! I think an interesting episode for Buffy would be something like this: Buffy is kinda forced to accept a foreign exchange program...something like where she in order to get a better grade in class has to take care of a foreign student. This student doesn't have to be a total Vampire....the student could be a partial Vampire. Meaning the stundent has a little more edge on the other vamps. THe Student of course could roam around in the day but his problem would be blood ....he would get cravings for it(this is similar to an old episode of a very old SuperBoy Series). So Buffy will keep this student with her...and this student could be like apart of one of her prophecies....to top it off depending on what sex the student is Xander or Willow one them could fall for the exchange student....this episode could be called Exchange Student or something. THen the student could probably prove to be a valuable asset in some way. the student could leave Jiles with a valuable load of information.THis is just one of my many ideas...unfortunately...I don't live in Cali...So...oh well I just want to see this show going...I love it...it is just one of the shows I make an effort to watch. I wish this show the best of LUck!!! Keep up the Good Work Sincerely Imrana a.k.a Mano P.S. He is unique and a first. If you've been a patron/friend of the library like me, you know how important reading is and how important are the American Library Association's (ALA) efforts to promote reading programs, literacy campaigns, etc. in an effort to stem the growing tide of ignorance and falling academic standards in this country. In Rupert Giles and his research team of Willow, Xander, Buffy, Ms. Callendar we have perfect examples of the intellectual approach utilizing the modern library's resources of books, on-line computer searches, etc. What a perfect ready-made bunch for a READ poster!!! If you've seen the other so-called celeb READ posters they look fake with Mel Gibson or Elvis Presely or some other sports star or actor holding a book. Looks phony and no real connection to what they really do on-screen and are publicly known for as famous people. But with the whole BtVS series, the library is where it all starts. The library, books, computers, etc. help them understand and solve mysteries. How would you all like to get Anthony Head and the rest of the BtVS cast on a ALA READ poster? These would be in every public library across America, they would also be available for sale to the public when they come out for $8 apiece. We can voice our opinions on this by writing to the ALA Art Director, Ms Kathy Repholz at krepholz@ala.org. She will take note of our votes to have Buffy, Willow, Xander maybe even a few monsters featured on an upcoming poster and I'm sure she'll mention it at their next staff meeting. BTW feel free to submit your poster ideas and your reasons as to just why Rupert Giles, Buffy, Willow, Xander, Ms. Giles are so PERFECT for the ALA literacy campaign. Here's an idea of mine... I think it's worth a shot. I mean we have even seen the Master reading on more than one occasion, foretelling the prophesy. I would pay to have 'em each and as a group on these posters. If Herc and Xena can do it, why not the Slayer and the Slayerettes? Let's go for it! Susan A. Xenite/Slayerette/Angelette "Keeper of all those cool WB promos using the Buffy cast." From: funee@juno.com Hello Ms. Repholz, On the Buffy the Vampire Slayer (BtVS) mailing list it was mentioned that there never has been a tv series utilizing characters who used the library such as the cast of BtVS does each week. If you've seen Warner Brothers hit tv series, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, you know that every week they face some new mystery in which high school kids utilize the services of the library. The students use all the resources of the modern library -- books, online internet searches, etc. This is a unique series in that it depicts the library as a very valuable tool to be used for gaining knowledge, understanding, and overcoming ignorance and fear. Therefore, as far as READ poster models go, in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, you've got some ready-made perfect poster models that I hope you will consider using. Here's a READ poster idea... CAPTION: Slay Ignorance READ (Buffy, Willow, Angel, Cordelia, etc. some monsters even, all holding books with Rupert Giles, the librarian, in the center) Thanks for your time and hope you will consider this idea. funee ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 11 Jun 1997 19:46:27 -0700 (PDT) From: Sonja Marie Subject: BUFFY: Buffy Cast in WB Promos? When were these shown? Okay I've never seen the dancing frog one. But I've seen 3 of them. I have 2 on tape. One has Sarah walking through the WB backlot "set" (the one that Michigan frog is seen promoting the network on everyday) One has Angel and Buffy, saying something like B:"You're watching the WB home of Buffy the Vampire Slayer" A:"You've been warned." I've not had the good fortune to get this one on tape. The last one I've seen and do have is with Angel and Xander. Something akin to: X:Dim the lights.. A:Lock your doors.. X:You're watching the WB ... etc. I've only seen them air before 7th Heaven. Right after reruns of the Fresh Prince in NYC. Susan A. You guys have probably already commented on this but I decided to post it anyway. The actress who plays Willow (I don't remember her name) played Dan Akroyd's daughter in "My Stepmother's An Alien" along with Kim Basinger. Well that's it so.... A YOUNG Alyson Hannigan stars as Dan Akyroyd's daughter. It's almost over though. On another note, is anyone the Keeper of the Cross that Angel gave to Buffy? I would like to claim it. Also what about the Buffy's stake ,the one Xander, finds from the pilot? Let me know. It is probably harmless, but if you have read it at all, you may have found it profoundly disturbing. (I have read it, for the record.) It is not likely to be even remotely accurate, for which you should be very grateful. Someone mentioned the Cthulu Mythos, (created by H.P. Lovecraft in the '30s) in realtion to the Buffyverse, and it's various critters, esp. the "Great Old Ones", and their proprietorship (along with the Master, and various other demonic entities) of earth before the coming of humanity. The "Great Old Ones" would make the Master and his demonic colleagues seem like little puppy dogs by comparison! If the Necronomicon(which, BTW, means "The Book of Dead Names"), ever existed, it is likely(hopefully) locked away from human eyes today. I'm quite certain that anything like the book I(and apparently you and your sister) have seen is merely a literary exercise designed to make a couple of bucks. Ya see, the "real" book is allegedly a ritual guide to returning "The Great Old Ones" to our universe. Not a good idea! If they are real, I for one, like them right where they are -- Elsewhere! I hope the list moms won't be too upset with me over this - it is a bit long, but it really isn't (IMHO) as off-topic as Brian feared. I once received a good word about dealing with demons and other such beasties, from a knowledgable source - the word was, "Don't!" I've always considered that to be very sage advice!
