I thought it was so sweet the way he carried Willow out and hung onto her until she seemed more stable. I also found it funny how Xander grabbed her too as soon as he saw that Angel was there, and that she kept putting her head back on Xander's shoulder. One thing I thought kind of strange though, right before Angel picks Willow up he puts his hand near her neck. It seems like it would be to check for a pulse or something but it was too quick, and it almost looked like he grabbed for her braid or something, it was rather strange. It's just this little clip but it's kind of funny. Anyone know what he's doing? Maybe it's nothing, but it just kind of struck me funny. I was also re-watching "The Puppet Show" (hey, I was going through BWS) and I had never noticed how in the scene where Sid is hitting on to Willow and says "How 'bout you and I do a little rehearsing on our own honey" and Xander quickly says "Uhhh...Hey!" His face is just too cute when he says that, you can actually see his protectiveness of Willow in his eyes. Okay, so I also watched "The Pack" again. This may be an oldie but did anyone notice that when Willow and Xander were talking about the zebra's mating "like the Heimlich, with stripes!" did anyone happen to notice that they were both wearing very brightly striped shirts? Hummm...kinda makes you think huh? And then it came to me! After her recent brush with death, wouldn't Buffy be curious about the lives of past slayers? How long did they live? Did they ever get married? Have children? Live a relatively normal life? I think it would be great if Buffy did some research on this and we could see some of the past slayers (the irony, of course being that Buffy gets into history voluntarily!) Also, I think we should see the past slayer's sidekicks (ancestors of Xander and Willow perhaps? Maybe that's why they're drawn to Buffy!) On another subject....I'm kind of confused about something. The opening says that a slayer is born into each generation. If a slayer is killed, is there another one ready to be called? Or do they have to wait for the next slayer to be born and grow up? By then, wouldn't it be too late? Does this mean that all past slayers have been successful? And yet another question! Does anyone wonder about what social circle Xander is in? He seems to fit in with several different groups, but he's kind of a loner as well. Just a few thoughts. Beth, this is one of those "undead" questions that the list loves to speculate on from time to time. I think the most accepted answer is that there are lots of potential slayers in various places, but that one of them only becomes the slayer when the current one, er, "retires." It's hard to reconcile that with the "one slayer per generation" thing, but what can you do? People here like to speculate sometimes about which other girl on the show could replace Buffy - Willow? Cordelia? (it's a pretty short list!). > Does anyone wonder about what social circle Xander is in? Well, NOW he's in the vampire-slayer circle. He was friends with Jesse, a loser, so maybe Xander was, too. Of course, Xander seems to have hung out with Willow at least a little, 'cause she knows an awful lot about him, such as that his family orders in take-out a lot. Fits in with the "social outsider" theme, too, as does the fact that he despises Cordelia. In "The Pack,"" the hosers who ask him some music question before getting their food stomped on might have been his friends. Plus, he listens to Patsy Cline records (I mean, who else does that?). Maybe he was just a non-snobby nice guy who hung out with geeks and knew a lot about bands and stereos. Your guess is as good as anyone's. I'm really upset because I don't have the episodes "I Robot, You Jane," "Nightmares," "Invisible Girl," and "The Witch" on tape and I really wanted to have them before the new season. Well if anyone has any or all of these episodes and would be SO kind as to copy them for me I would be so grateful. I'd pay a very high price for them (I know I'm obsessed) and I would send you a tape to copy them onto and anything else you would need to send this and would pay in full in advance. PLEASE, I BEG OF YOU - I really want these episodes! Please someone contact me privately. Thank you. Also, if anyone else needs any of the other episodes copied for them I would glady copy them and send them for whatever price it costs me to do so. Also, does anyone know of the site where I could go to to see who was keeper of what and then so I could become keeper of something. Thanks. Towards the tail-end there were a lot of random passerby's who were probably just thinking 'Hmm! A star...signing autographs...and free posters. Sure, why not?' That's all it said?" Xander: "Look at what? Look at Mitch? Buffy: "Maybe, all I know is it's a message." Xander: "And..." Giles: "Oh...here you are." (walking in and sitting down) Buffy: "And monsters don't usually send messages, it's pretty much crush, kill, and destroy, this was different." Giles: "I'd have to say you're right." Buffy: "I love it when he says that! any theories?" Giles: "I'm a bit puzzled really, I've never really heard of anyone being attacked by a lone baseball bat before." Xander: "Maybe it's a vampire bat?" (they all look at him) "I'm alone with that one, huh?" Giles: "Well assuming the bat itself is not possessed, there are a few possibilities that bare investigating, someone with telekineses, uhh.. the power to move objects at will, an invisible creature...or possibly a poltergeist." Willow: "A ghost?!" Giles: "Yes, and a very angry one." Buffy: "Yeah, I'd say! The locker room was a real scene." Willow: "If it's a ghost than we're talking about a dead kid." Buffy: "I guess so." (they go on to assign roles for the investigation...if you need this part too, mail me.) Sorry, I don't know if anyone already uses this for their signature... Maybe that's why they're drawn to Buffy!) I can see it now, they have one of those black and white flashback scenes and all of the actors play the roles of those who were in their position centuries ago... actually it would be really interesting seeing the actors play a different role that is still the same...does that make sense? :) >On another subject....I'm kind of confused about something. The opening says >that a slayer is born into each generation. If a slayer is killed, is there >another one ready to be called? This is an interesting question. I think there is only one slayer born to each generation, I don't think anyone becomes the new slayer right after the past slayer died. One thing that leads me to believe this is the scene where Buffy talks about dropping her grades to get kicked out of school in "The Harvest" I think it was, and Giles says "The earth is doomed." If there were another slayer to take her place once she was retired why would the earth be doomed? But this does make you wonder how all of the slayers in the past could have been successful. They are specially chosen though! :) >And yet another question! Does anyone wonder about what social circle Xander >is in? He seems to fit in with several different groups, but he's kind of a >loner as well. In my opinion he seemed to hang out with the skater bunch, or the type of people from "The Pack" (the ones they stole the hot dogs from). Now of coarse he hangs out with Buffy, Willow, and Giles. Humm...I wonder how his old friends took the switch.
