We don't know much about how Watchers are chosen and trained. It is at least sometimes hereditary -- Giles' father and grandmother were Watchers. But we don't know if they ever recruit outside the family. If they do, Willow would be a fine choice. If they don't -- unless there are other Watcher bloodlines in existence, Giles should be hurrying to find himself a very understanding woman. As a matter of fact you can find realism in almost every show out there. Buffy's dialogue is realistic. The way they talk and act. Dawson's Creek has realism. The teens are in situations that we have all probably found ourselves in. Hating someone for liking the person you like. Being in love with someone you can't have. Thinking about sex. Dealing with racism. My so called life is VERY realistic. But so what? Dawson's Creek has dialogue that doesn't reflect teens. What else is new? In the scene following that, they pan from left to right over the party guests and the 4th one in line is a dark haired young woman wearing a red toga, a gold necklace, and holding a goblet. She does, in fact, look like Charisma Carpenter. I paused the scene and it's difficult to deny the resemblance.
