White, with >the red & balck MWH logo on front, and on back, in black "You can dance >if you want to" and "hats@xmission.com." Does that sound OK? The logo and motto sound great, but I think I'd prefer a yellow T-shirt, like the one the dwarf wore in the Safety Dance video. Especially if we're going to put a Safety Dance lyric on the back, I think it should be yellow. A white shirt with the hats logo would make me think of Folk part 3 instead of Rhythm of Youth. Although "You can dance if you want to" would be the most immediately recognizable lyric to put on there, I'd prefer something that was a little more obscure--something only another fan is likely to recognize, but which would sound cool to anyone. And I gotta tell ya the version of Safety Dance is just wonderful. If you like lounge music at all I think you'll appreciate this as a very strong production in it's own right, but if you detest lounge I think you'd still get a kick out of this version anyway. One of the other tracks that is hilarious is a rendition of the overrated Allanis Morrisette song "You Oughta Know". The sampler version is bleeped at the right spot which I think makes it even funnier than if it weren't censored (it's labeled "Safe Mix"). I may check out the album should a used copy appear somewhere, but I got what I wanted from it on this single. Anyway, hope this info is useful. In my opinion, You should give the T-shirt maker your ORIGINAL ROY concert shirt and tell them to make it exactly like the original. Why make a shirt that is anything different? I am talking about the ROY tour shirt that the dwarf wore in Safety Dance, that just says "Rhythm of Youth Tour" on the back. I just don't want to wear something with a reference to "safety dance" on the shirt. We want the non-fans to think that there IS more to Men Without Hats than that silly song. I'm having trouble with my email, so this might be a duplicate post. Sorry if it is. When I originally suggested getting T-shirts (April 21), I made a few suggestions for what could go on the back, and solicitied opinions and other ideas. I think a grand total of 3 people made any comment at all, and the consensus of this stunning minority was what I presented yesterday. I can't have them copy my ROY shirt *exactly* because of legalities, so the back can't say "Rhythm of Youth Tour." Why would we want it to say that anyway? That was 1983, and would propogate the myth that MWH fell off the face of the earth shortly thereafter. Based on the discussion, the possibilities for the back are: 1. Nothing 2. email only: hats@xmission.com 3. Lyric only (compromising between the "let's be really obscure so only people who are already interested in MWH will ever understand" crowd and the "let's see if we can catch someone's attention and perhaps start a meaningful dialogue about the artistry of MWH" crowd) a. The great ones remember b. We walked around in circles singing c. Here's to you ... sideways d. See things you've never seen (or remember) 4. email and lyric from above list Right now I'm leaning towards email address and lyric D. AND IT WILL NOT BE YELLOW OR ORANGE. I would like to wear one without looking like a very large citrus fruit, thank you very much. If this goes on for too long, the shirts will never get done. I guess it boils down to this: you can trust my judgement to come up with a nice T-shirt and get one of them, or not (to both clauses). Sorry if this sounds snotty. Mitsou is a French Canadian singer who started off singing great french pop songs. I really liked her style and she was very cute. I met her once at a record signing and she is a doll. A few fab releases from the album El Mundo include BYE BYE MON COWBOY and LES CHINOIS. Check out the fab Shep Pettibone remix of the former!! For her second album, she worked with Ivan and produced a few songs I really liked, but the overall flavour of the album was more mature, and frankly not as fun. It spawned a few good singles, notable DIS-MOI DIS-MOI and LETRE A UN COWBOY. The album is called Terre Des Hommes. The third and fourth albums were re-releases with a few new tracks and remixes. The US version is a best-of of sorts. I have this as well. The Cdn version is somewhat similar. It contains DEEP KISS and HEADING WEST (my friend thought she was singing "My hair's a mess!". A few french songs and MItsou's attempt to sing English--she isn't very good at it either! The fifth album I sold cause I thought it was just terrible!! Mitsou does not sound very good singing in English and I think she should stick to singing french! It contains the track EVERYBODY SAY LOVE written by RuPual! The sixth all french album is called YA YA and captures some of the fun that made Mitsou likeable. However, this album falls short of anything all that captivating. It contains the great tracks C'EST CHAUD and COMME J'AI TOUJOURS ENVIE D'AIMER. I hope all this info is correct as it is all from memory. Mitsou did have some great videos however, of which there is a vid collection available. She is often described as the Cdn Madonna. You can spot her in the new Ivan video as well! Cheers! Francis = (new > father yet?)? Claude? >=20 Okay, I'll say this once (so listen). Please, stop talking or asking about Mitsou!!!!!!!! Here, in her home town, she is considered as some kind of Pamela Anderson. What she does musically is NOT INTERESTING. She doesn't know how to sing, the sound of her voice is not great. Mitsou was always thinked in terms of being a marketable product. There's nothing more to it, period. She has some "interesting" physical features (if you're into the silicone variety) and she knew how to make good use of them. She loves being featured in cheap tablo=EFds (I think that part of the job was more important to her than the singing part). So you see, for me Mitsou is very far from Ivan. She represents everything I dislike in this business. Ivan refused to perform on Solid Gold. Mitsou would have pay the big price to make it on that program (do you get the picture?). Now, don't get me wrong. I have nothing personal against Mitsou. She is a very intelligent person and very nice to talk to (she's not pretentious or some stupid air-head). She started a production company with her actual boy-friend (a musician) and she's very good at handling negotiations and stuff like that. Finally. about this list. I know that fans are usually that kind of people who wants to know the color of the new t-shirt of their idol and all those trivial details. That's not my cup of tea. I love to get informations (concert dates, obscure recordings, details on interviews), but I'm mainly interested in sharing ideas, opinions with peoples who happens to have some interests in common with me (like a mutual love for a musical band). When some peoples (I think it was one guy actually) are frustrated because I am sharing some opinions on the validity of Trans-X versus Men Without Hats, arguing they feel obliged to read all the messages by fear of missing important information, it makes me wander... Perhaps we should precede all those annoying messages proving that we do use our brain for something more than a storage facility for "informations" by the mention INCLUDE NO TRIVIAL INFO. When you have a chance (and you won't have a spare moment for about the next three or four years), you should put a picture of her on the web. What is your daughter's name? I dropped off my precious ROY T-shirt at Body Billboards today. They promised to take good care of it. I have ordered 125 shirts, 75 XL and 50 XXL (but 2 of them are mine, mine, mine!!!). For the XL, before I figure in postage, the cost is about $7.25, and for the XXL, $1 more. This includes the T-shirt, 100% cotton, with sleeves (my original is a muscle shirt); the screens and ink (2 colors - red and black for the logo on front, and black for the back); and whatever the artists need to do for making the screens and doing the lettering. Considering my shirt cost me $12 in 1983, I think this is pretty darn good, even when you add in the postage to wherever you may be. After carefully considering everyone's comments (and in spite of my PMS-induced bitchiness yesterday, I *really did* pay attention to people's comments), I went with including the email address (if it changes in a year, well, they'll have the artwork on file and we can just make another T-shirt! ), and the song title/lyric "The Great Ones Remember." A nod to the nostalgic list members - it's from ROY, of course; but at the same time, it's obscure enough that people will ask, "Catchy phrase, but what does it mean?" Also, it's rather smugly self-congratulatory - we were in to MWH before Beavis and Butthead mocked them, before Pauly Shore featured it in Bio-Dumb, before it was anywhere near cool to admit that one liked 80s music. We knew a good thing when we saw it the first time, and we remember the glory days. Enough BS? Yeah, I thought so. Speaking of which, time to walk the dogs... ;-) L8R, everyone!!! :-) Laura (not-Jim, who is fine, by the way, back up on the roof already, but hopefully sans crowbar) # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info hats" in the message. # Postings must go to hats@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Men Without Hats discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?hats ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: CDcollectr@aol.com Subject: (hats) BOOTS anyone? Date: 04 Jul 1997 01:07:13 -0500 (CDT) My, how this list has taken a turn for the worst! Remember, people: we, the fans of Men Without Hats, are a select breed. Without this list, I would have no one to even remotely discuss MWH or synthpop in general. I will gladly sift through a few messages that disinterest me just to preserve the privilege it is that this forum exists! ANYWAY, I did listen to Mr. Garbuio's 2 cents, and I agree that the shirts should be the color of the RoY album cover. And that's not yellow! You won't look like Charlie Brown or a banana! I like that color, and I'd really like to have a shirt of that color because so many of my other shirts are plain, drab white. So I implore you to print the design on RoY gold-colored shirts. Then again, it may be too late since the order's been made, and it would have been more expensive to do so, but we should've found that out prior to ordering. I'm beginning to sour on the whole shirt idea. It's tearing us/me apart! These are not fall colors, so to speak. Yes, Claude! The folk should pay attention when 2 freaks are discussing important questions! By the way: Yes, I do like KRAFTWERK. 'Die Roboter' was one of my first singles when I was a child. If you thought you asked me, and you don't get an email, better ask me again. If you *really* want orange, let me know. I will see about having some of them done in yellow/orange since they won't actually start doing shirts until Monday at 10 when I give them a deposit. Based on the data I have so far (remember, I do statistics for fun), I will probably have 12% done in orange/yellow (probably 10 XLs and 5 XXLs). Most people have either been ambivalent or specifically said white. I'm willing to bet that the color will cost extra, but I don't know for sure. If it's more than a dollar difference, I'll go with all white, and you can get some RIT and color it yellow yourself. ;-) If you want a T-Shirt, and you haven't asked yet, ASK! Reply to me, not the list, and tell me quantity, size (XL or XXL), and color (W or O). OK, some non-T-shirt stuff - my new car is very peachy keen, so everyone who is going to the Montreal concert will probably get to go for a ride, at least around the block. Who else is going? Trena and I are driving up Friday, and picking up Tom N at the airport on Saturday. Claude or Francis, do either of you know what time Ivan is going to be performing? I have started a waiting list (by date and time stamp from my email, which takes into account differences from GMT) for other requests, and will call the T-Shirt place tomorrow to see if I can bump up the order a bit. I have had the "Fan" CD's (refraining from using the word bootleg) since the first go around and this was my first time listening to it in beautiful analog (I am strange that way...I like vinyl). I noticed something weird about Antarctica. On the Fan CD, it fades out very cleanly, but on the vinyl, it has an abrupt ending after the seventh "It's my turn". I'm posting the question to the list because I used to have a piece of mail from J.R. that listed the sources for the cuts on the Fan CD. Hopefully someone still has that mail because I seem to have lost it. If someone does, would you please forward it to me. In fact with the second generation happening, perhaps the list would be interested as well. I have a 12" version of "Folk Of The 80s" EP (thank you, Carl) but I've not listened to it as I too have the "fanmade" 3CD set to which *I* prefer to listen. You may have discovered a "rarity"! Also, Russ, I've finished the demo tape of my early Ymphony!s and will be sending you a copy to review in the very near future. Please review them honestly. However, I REALLY enjoyed reading everyone's T-shirt suggestions (kind of like "If you were stranded on a desert island and you could only have ONE book what would it be....") If I'd gotten hooked up in time, I would've suggested "SOUNDS FAMILIAR BUT IT DOESN'T SOUND THE SAME" (from one of my personal favorites!) Anyway, I'm about Ivan's age and have been a major fan since I got my first earful. I used to have a handful of self-taped vids (Safety Dance, Pop Goes, and a couple televised interviews) but lost them to over-eager friends. Therefore, I'm especially anxious to find out what any of you have on video and how to go about purchasing or trading for it. Also VERY interested in photos and/or concert stills. Any out there? I have some early vinyl including the MCA 12" Folk/Pt.3 and most of the original issue CDs--I wonder if anyone would be interested in trading vids or pics for cassettes made from these? I'd also consider trading vinyl for a really handsome program I caught a brief glimpse of in 1988--I think it was from the Montreal WinterFest (lots of shots of the Snowman!) and had some awesome pics of Ivan, Stefan, et al--owned by a friend from McGill U who has since passed into history. Has anyone ever seen this or know how to get a copy (I'd even pay for color photocopies if available.) Hope this wasn't too long--wanted to introduce myself. Feel like I know the lot of you! It's the same story that I posted on my web page http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Towers/1290 The first time I heard a song from Men Without Hats I was 8, 8 years ago. I was watching Musique Plus when I heard for the first time Safety Dance. I liked it but I forgot the title of the song and the band who made it and, two years ago I rented the movie Bio-Dome with Pauly Shore (very good movie, rent it ! ). So I was watching the movie when I heard the song again (for those who saw it, Safety Dance is the song they use to try to get them out of the Bio-Dome) and this time I looked at the generic and noted the song's name and the band's name. Then I went to buy the albums they made, but the only one that was still produced was "Men Without Hats Greatest Hats" so I bought it. For some reason I like the way the keyboards sound. And from now on I'm proud to say that I'm a big fant of them. Thank you for listening to my little story and hi to all of you!!! P.S. Sorry for the mistakes I may have made but my 1st language is french not english. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info hats" in the message. # Postings must go to hats@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Men Without Hats discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?hats ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Todd Draper Subject: Re: (hats) MEN WITHOUT BOOTS Date: 11 Jul 1997 08:25:55 -0600 According to secret government files FischrZ@aol.com said: >WHAT THE HELL! So I asked how he knew and he told me he receoved a promo of "Open Your Eyes". He went on saying how it came with some other versions. I flipped! Yes in the car :) I went on begging him to give it to me. I think I will get it this weekend. I haven't listened to the record but he told me the remixes aren't anything great. They only "Radio Version", "Album Version", etc. Well, we all know how we like to collect absolutely everything from MWH! I asked him to describe the cover of the promo record and he said it is just a white label with the "Ivan" logo written across the label on one side. Also, a cousin of mine loves "Open Your Eyes" but told me Ivan looks really scarey in the video. Scarey?! She said it was because of the hat he was wearing on his head. I have no idea why she thinks that way. :) Just for interest sake, I'd like to mention that I boughtan italian CD from a group called 883. What's funny is that just in the past couple of weeks, the Christian radio station here has started playing a lounge version of "Flood" by Jars of Clay. This is from a CD called "Lounge Lizards" containing lounge re-makes of Christian music. What's the deal with lounge music?!? I just came back from the show (Laura gave me a lift home, it's almost 2 in morning). I think you will ear a lot about that concert. Wait and see what Laura, Tom and Dave (the party animal) have to say about their trip in Montreal, you're in for a treat! Friday night, after an average meal we went to see Voivod in concert (I drag them there, arguing that we may see Ivan there). He was not there, but there was a band called the Smithies who were opening for Voivod. Let's just say that Dave was disappointed that the singer didn't swallow his guitar (you asked for it Dave). So the next day we went to the airport to pick Tom and then.... Something happened! I wont tell you. I'll leave the pleasure to Laura, Dave and Tom! (let's just say that at this point I was convince that the only sane person in the group was Treena, Laura's girlfriend from work). After that we went to 6 record stores. And yes, it's sad but true, there are no more MWH or Ivan's record in Montreal! Laura bought them all!!!!! After that we went for a nice lunch with Francis, his wife and baby girl.Vince joined us with two friends, and Christian (my best buddy) also joined the gang. From there we went to the concert. The concert started a bit passed 10PM. The line-up was the same as in Toronto (2 dancers, Linda Benoy on backup vocals and Hugo Bugg - a very nice person - on electronics). Now for the songs: 1 WWW 2 Superbadgirls 3 Open your Eyes 4 1972 (Slippin' away) 5 The Spell 6 My Wonder Wall (from Oasis) Those 6 song were played without interuption. That was the first part of the show. Ivan dedicated the next song to... Oh, I let the others fill you on that one to ;o) 7 Fly 8 I Feel Love (from Donna Summers) 9 If I Could Fall in Love (from Selina) After that, everybody leaves the stage except for Hugo who really gave everything he got on the next piece, 10 Outro Everybody comes back to deliver: 11 Pop Goes the World That's the strangest version I ever eared of that song! I asked Ivan what he called that version. With a big smile he answered: bass-drum. I would have called it the techno-funk-acid-jazz version, very intense and busy (but now, I'm not a specialist). Then enters Colin (on keyboard) and his little daughter Sahara (to give a helping hand to the dancers) as they get into: 12 Safety Dance Out goes Colin, in comes Bill Pash (I really don't know how to spell his name, he's Ivan's cousin from North Carolina), keyboard player. He was the last one in, he will be the last one out, as they perform: 13 I've Got The Message 14 Chain Reaction And that was it. As far as I'm concern, it was a flawless performance by very nice peoples. The crowd was very happy, the atmosphere was somehow refreshing and elevating. The "band" was having fun and so did we! The only complain I have is that at moments, Ivan's voice was not loud enough, but I guess that depends on where you were standing on the site. After that we... I wont tell you. But don't worry, you'll know pretty soon! For the guy who asked for a T-shirt, we got you one. Tom has it! You can make arrangment directly with him at tnorman@mail.netwalk.com The shirt is nice. It's black with Ivan's logo on the front, and a nice cartoonish drawing on the back for Superbadgirls. That was done by Ivan himself! He used to do those comic strips back then, a man of many talents indeed! Okay, can I go to bed now? I'm going anyway, bye everybody And to Laura, Treena, Dave & Baby Tom, it was very nice meeting you, I'll get back to some of you (concerning The Box and Indochine) Claude... # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info hats" in the message. # Postings must go to hats@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Men Without Hats discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?hats ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Thomas Norman" Subject: (hats) MONTREAL SHOW REPORT : MUST READ Date: 20 Jul 1997 21:15:06 -0400 >I think you will ear a lot about that concert. Wait and see what Laura, >Tom and Dave (the party animal) have to say about their trip in >Montreal, you're in for a treat! OK. Tom here, the first one who is back from Montreal. Now for the good news: I have soooo much to report so i'll just give you the quick rundown and let Laura, Dave and the rest of the gang fill you in. I brought a videocamera to Montreal. We waited in front of the park around 2 in the afternoon, hoping that Ivan would walk by for the sound check before that evening's show. Because of Laura's shirts (we were all wearing them), Ivan came to our side of the fence to check out who we were. Needless to say, we ALL talked to him for over 15 minutes. Its all on videotape. I even asked him the majority of the questions that we were all going over (the what if we met IVAN questions). OK, IT GETS BETTER......... Ivan allowed us to videotape his whole sound check! For those of you who are unfamilliar with what a soundcheck is: This is where they play EVERY song , mixing it in different ways, checking levels etc. I taped over 20 minutes of this. The sound quality and videoquality are UNBELEIVEABLE!!! OK, IT GETS BETTER STILL....... Claude, who deserves most of the credit for setting this up, talked to the show promoter, security, IVAN etc. to allow me to go up in front of the crowd barricade right up to the stage to videotape the whole concert! Now the bad news: my camera is like a car with over 200,000 miles on it. The power konked out right at the end of "open your eyes". I only got the first 3 songs of the show on videotape. But they look and sound perfect!!!!!! The whole IVAN tape is 45min including my perfect copy of "open your eyes" video. The videotape looks and sounds excellent!!!!! OK. I will definately copy this for everyone. Let me make this clear: if it wasn't for Claude, Laura, and the rest of the gang in Montreal , this would have never been possible. What I am saying is WE really lucked out! We all scored!! I even had IVAN say hi (wave into the camera) for all of you. Now because We all talked to IVAN and COLIN for over an hour, we have lots of great stories.... I will let Laura and the gang continue. Start sending e-mail to queue up for copies of the video. Don't worry , this is for everyone. I think I will ask $15 a piece for the IVAN fan video. (people in Montreal get free copies, cause they helped. The $15 is for priority shipping and really good high quality NEW videotapes, ok? I think this is how much I asked for the 1st one. I won't start with a limit, cause I think we should ALL have a copy of this. Kramer" Subject: (hats) Chapter 2 Date: 21 Jul 1997 13:24:16 +0000 Hi! Are you all holding your breath? Well , turns out the guy was not Ivan, but one of the crew. I detached myself from the fence and we went inside to talk to him. He told Claude that the sound check would be at two, and that everyone would need to come through the gate at the far end of the field. It was 20 past one, and we decided that waiting to see Ivan was more important than sightseeing or anything else!!! It was for the good of the list!!!! So we returned to the gate to wait. We saw many of the band members go through the gate - Hugo among them (what a trip!! Hugo - you're just a hoot!). After some time (after 2 and the sound check still hadn't started in earnest), we heard footsteps behind us, coming from the field to the area outside the gate where we were waiting. Claude didn't say a word, but when I turned around there were two men and a precious little blonde girl. The men were both wearing hats and sunglasses, but I *KNEW*. My heart was doing cartwheels and my stomach was doing somersalts - a real Olympic gymnastics routine was taking place in my internal organs. I stuck out my hand and said, "Hi I'm Laura Kramer" or something really erudite like that. One of the men, the one without the little girl attached to him, shook my hand and said, "Nice to meet you. I'm Ivan." He introduced himself to everyone else, and then introduced us to Colin and his daughter Sahara (everyone look on your copy of The Spell if you have it - the "Introducing Sahara Sloan - that's Colin's darling little girl! She sings a little backup on Forever. She's about 5 or 6 and just as sweet as can be!!!). I hardly recognized Colin in his baseball cap and sunglasses - they were travelling incognito! Then, I'm sorry to say, we pounced on Ivan like 4 starving cats on a mouse. Please sign this, please can I take your picture, please talk into the camera and say hi to everyone that couldn't be here. We were all wearing our T's, and I had brought a laundry marking pen with me so that Ivan could autograph my T. He was very nice about it, and Trena took some pictures of Ivan signing my back [yes, on the back - I'm an old married lady, you know! Plus, I'm very ticklish ;-) ]. Ivan was soooo gracious about signing autographs and posing to have his picture taken, and he very goodnaturedly let himself be interviewed by "Super-Camera-Man" Tom. Some exciting tidbits - Ivan would like to work on another MWH album in the next year with Colin and Stefan again! Ivan is talking to INXS about fronting for them on their tour (which would come to the US!)!! Ivan even suggested that some of his PERSONAL PRIVATE stuff he might consider releasing JUST FOR US!!! Ivan gave his permission for us to videotape the concert and take pictures, and very generously asked us if we wanted to stick around for the sound check. We all nodded so vigorously we looked like those silly little animals with springs for necks that people put on the back ledge in their cars. Some of the other members of the band also stopped by - Linda Benoy the backup singer (WONDERFUL voice - smooth and deep - love it!! Also a very, very nice and gracious lady!!!), Hugo Bugg (already mentioned that he's an absolute trip - I think he's solar powered and turbo charged!!), and our fellow Tarheel (and is he really Ivan's cousin? Awesome) Bill Pasch (not sure on spelling, and I couldn't remember his first name until Claude said it - thanks!). Ivan went back to the stage for the sound check and we followed along like ants at a picnic. On the way down another man came up to us and introduced himself as Benoit - I can't remember his last name, but he is the promoter for the Rock sans Frontieres concert, if I caught all of that right (anyone correct me please). He couldn't believe that we came all the way from the US just to see Ivan. He said that we were really dedicated fans, and somewhere along the line he promoted me to the exalted position of "president of the fan club." Benoit reassured us that we could take the video camera and could pretty much do whatever the heck we wanted as long as we didn't get in the way, and if anyone gave us any problems (security guy-types), just to tell the security guys to call Benoit on their walkie talkies and he (Benoit) would make sure that they understood we had carte blanche. WOW! Geez, that sure was a run-on sentence! I have seen it in import shops in L.A. for $20 US. Arons on Highland has it in stock right now... Kramer" Subject: (hats) chapter 3 Date: 22 Jul 1997 08:16:17 +0000 ACK!! My email had a burp yesterday about 3:00 - they were messing with the phone lines at work. Resending this now... (Tues a.m.) We're up to the Sound Check now, I think! Tom was filming like crazy, I was snapping photos like mad, and in between times we were milling around kind of meeting people. I went to talk to Colin a little bit, and got his autograph on my shirt as well - that was very cool! He even drew a little logo on the back, and said that The Great Ones Remember was a good quote to have there! Whew!! They pretty much went through the whole concert, so we had a "sneak preview" of what we could look forward to that night. Trena asked me (and I later asked Ivan) if Ivan had ever done a concert for 4 people before (not counting Claude who gets to see Ivan more frequently than we do!). Ivan thought that was funny (or at least laughed politely). After the sound check, Ivan met us at the barrier separating the backstage area from the rest of the field where we were standing and chatted with us some more. I reminded him to look for us at the concert, because I wanted to give him a T-shirt. He said he certainly would keep an eye out for us, and would see if he could get us backstage after the show, too. COOL! Ivan seemed very excited about the stuff we fans were making, and said he'd like copies of whatever we did. I offered him a copy of my 3-cd boots and a kidney if he needed one. He laughed, then went to rest and get some dinner before the concert (it was about 3:30, 3:45 by now), and then Colin came over to talk to us some more. Tom and Colin got to talking about maybe getting old concerts and demos that Colin had taped (Tom - give us more techno-details please!) and Colin looked at Tom very pointedly, smiled broadly, and said, "Oh, so you want BOOTLEGS?!" I quickly jumped in and said, "We prefer to think of them as 'fan-produced'." Colin laughed and said he'd see!!! Then we went left to hit some used CD and record stores, and go to dinner. I don't think a single copy of any MWH stuff is left in any of the stores we visited. Believe it or not, there was even a used copy of Spell already in one of the stores (not for long, though, let me tell you!!!)
