The year starts quite well: Just after X-Mas I got Tom's new boots! What a great, late X-Mas gift! Yes, until now it's really still a gift, as I couldn't send Tom the stuff he wants from me until now. But you'll get it in about 2 weeks, don't worry, Tom! What I wanted to say is: Yes, Tom is really the Hatter that you all can trust! Remember: Tom was also the guy who filmed IVAN for us in Montreal! I don't know how he did it, but he really got the Demos for us! Great cover-/ label artwork by Tom and really amazing material on the CD in very good sound quality! The Demo Version of LIVING IN CHINA is absolutely fantastic! Also very interesting to hear the great title track of ROY which for some strange reason was never released on the original album! I guess most of you know the long, beat-driven version of BAN THE GAME from the Spectrum concert. Now you can hear the 'early studio version'. Much, much better than the piano only short version on the original album! And all the other previously unreleased tracks besides ROY: GRAVITY IS MY ENIMY (really strange track!), 1999 (poppy!), TREBLINKA (great atmosphere!). Also very interesting to hear early Demo versions of brilliant tracks of the FOLK 3 album, such as WHERE DO THE BOYS GO, UNSATISFACTION, I KNOW THEIR NAME! But a really strange one is OU SONT MES MEN: Only some 'sounds' that last just for a few seconds. Does anybody know what's that about? I realize that I have turned away some people in the last week or so for Boots. The truth of the matter is that I am all out. On the other hand, I promised "Mr. somebody" that I would share the demos with everyone on the list. Now, when I say that I am out of CDs. This is the present tense. This doesn't mean that I won't make some more next week. I just don't want to have another Todd situation. The way to avoid a Todd situation, in my opinion, is to make the CDs first, before any agreements. This way, if I tell you I can do it, they are already on the way. Now for the time being, Russ Kemsley is doing the demoCD --> CD#5. If you would like that today, send him an e-mail. Don't worry, I am not finished yet. I need to begin on #4,6,7 CDs, thats all. While I am waiting on those, I may be doing some more 1,2,3 in a month or so, while Russ is doing 5. The point is...... I am still moving, just not on 5 at the moment. Oh yeah..... everyone keeps asking me who Mr. Somebody is. I absolutely can't say who he is, that was the other part of the deal. So please quit asking...... Just do what I do: "Thank you Mr. Somebody!!!!" What the hec..... I am going to start on the new reissue of CD#3 tonight, with no gaps in the tracks :-) cheers Tom tnorman@mail.netwalk.com - - # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info hats" in the message. # Postings must go to hats@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Men Without Hats discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?hats ------------------------------ Date: Tue, 6 Jan 1998 19:03:15 EST From: Nikolai81 Subject: Re: (hats) Where did the list go?
