I think it's all fair with all of this bootleg stuff. First of all, the KLF are about the only group you can legally bootleg and nothing will ever happen to you. It says right here on 1987 that: "All sounds on this recording have been captured by the KLF in the name of Mu, we hereby liberate these sounds from all copyright restrictions without prejudice." So go ahead, bootleg to your hearts content and don't feel bad about the artist (at least the KLF) not receiving money. I agree with the person who wanted a true bootleg instead of these DJ mixes. If Mike kindly wants to donate his stuff to the LSOM series, that would be nice but he's got lots of cool stuff anyway. Consider that a pre-order Mike--(hope you got my money order for the recs...) Cheers to Marshall and Lars and Mike for doing it, a big trading session might be better but for those who can't burn em--a reasonable price is fair. As for more bootlegs you might want to buy, I have a few that I'm making if you're interested and am wondering if any knowledgable person could tell me the legalities of doing this. Should we be attempting to pay royalties on out-of-print material? I personally am against bootlegging things that are still in print. Just go to Tower! But the question remains for out-of-print suff. Enough blabber, here are a few you guys might want: Brilliant: Kiss the Lips of Life (+ more)--Brilliant was that cheesy 80s band with Youth (God) and Jimi Cauty No, it's not great, but I say give it a listen, after-all, it was only a year before 1987. Tracklisting: Colors (the first recording--Youth and a bunch of people who left) Soul Murder (12" version) Growler (12" version) Wait For It (12" version) It's a Man's World (12" mix/mad Professor mix) Crash the Car (multiple Pile Up Mix) Love Is War (12" version) The Red Red Groovy Ruby Fruit Jungle Somebody (12" version, original version) Burning Necklace End of the World (12"version) How High The Sun Kiss the Lips of Life I'll Be Your Lover That might all fit on one cd...I'll check. I could also do a really nice copy of 1987 and Space on one cd-r (will that fit on a 74?). Lots of orb people were interested in this stuff, let me know if you want anything here: Orbscure Trax Aubrey Mixes Morphology Anthology 2 All Orb promo remixes, Kiss Your Love, Eternity Project singles and album I'm working on an orb remix cd (Auntie Aubrey 3 or something...) Musically, it's a distorted 'big-beat' style track, built around a 2 note electric guitar riff which bears a striking resemblance to Sheep on Drugs' "Chard" (although it is not a sample of this) with a few vocal "huh"s and a female vocal snippet pitched up too high to decipher, and a trumpet break that was also on the JAMMS "Whitney joins the Jamms" (and possibly an S-Express track?) - it's not clear if this is a sample from the JAMMS or just from the same place they got it!. The track was one of the ones on the DAT played at Derby, which Mr David Green seemed to take responsibility for. The track is the 10th and last on the first of 3 CDs, and alsoi makes a short appearance on the 3rd disc (which is a DJ mix of tracks from the first 2 discs) Here is the info for all the discography builders out there.... Title - "Big Beat Elite Repeat" Label - Lacerba Cat No. - CERBAD 5 Disc 1, track 10 "Kiss" by The Poleheads (3m 07sec). Produced and composed by KingKut25 and Fortean Funk. Copyright Control. (P)1997 Polehead Productions Disc 3, track 16 is the last 1m 07sec of the above, mixed in with the previous track The sleeve notes include a e-mail address for the label - but I have not yet recieved a reply to a mail I sent there requesting info about who KingKut25 and Fortean Funk are. If I get anything, I'll forward it to the list. The notes also say the Mix CD was made from vinyl, so presumably the track is also on a piece of vinyl out there somewhere... - - andy R. # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info klf" in the message. # Postings must go to klf@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # KLF discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?klf ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 18 Feb 1998 12:31:33 -0800 From: Mojo Subject: (klf) WANTED: ALL klf/related merchandise!!!
