I'm going to have to correct you here, Daniel. "Dubnobasswithmyheadman" is, in fact, their 3rd full album. It is the first though, from what I understand, where they fully fleshed out their own sound. If I'm not mistaken they used to be a Depeche Mode cover band. 1. Underneath the Radar, 1988 2. Change the Weather, 1989 3. Dubnobasswithmyheadman, 1993 4. Second Toughest In the Infants, 1996 Whiggy # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info orbital" in the message. # Postings must go to orbital@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jan 1998 14:09:12 +0100 From: "Daniel Kasaj" Subject: Re: (orbital) Questions involving trak listings Whiggy wrote: >I'm going to have to correct you here, Daniel. >"Dubnobasswithmyheadman" is, in fact, their 3rd full album. Change the Weather, 1989 I always thought these two were singles that didn't make it to any albums. I never listened to Depeche Mode before, and didn't know about Underworld because of my general ignorance... (actually, for a period of time I refused to listen to anything but Orbital) I got interested in Underworld with Born Slippy which I heard on the Trainspotting soundtrack and then Pearl's Girl (I got it for the first time on a tape StarBoy sent to me..that same tape had Halcyon Live with Bon Jovi/Belinda Carlisle samples that I also heard for the first time) Then I heard Banstyle, Dirty Epic and of course , mmm Skyscraper I love you -- after that I bought both dubnobass and 2nd toughest, and have 3 versions of Pearl's Girl singles and the Moaner single. I'm sort of an Underworld convert, but believe me -- their music made my life complete. And it's really just the music, I don't know anything about them except for Darren Emmerson's name. One of these days I have to get their full discography.... Well...thanks for enlightening me Whiggy :) Daniel ::::::::::::::::: "Message received - please send more..." # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info orbital" in the message. # Postings must go to orbital@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jan 1998 07:31:01 -0700 (MST) From: Matthew J Abate Subject: Re: (orbital) Questions involving trak listings > I'm going to have to correct you here, Daniel. > "Dubnobasswithmyheadman" is, in fact, their 3rd full album. From: "nrotherham" >Hi, > I was just wondering if anyone on this list likes or has heard of >Eat Static. I loved the first two LP's, Timeshard on Planet Dog are also really good but avoid the compilations unless you can get into the mellower stuff. My favourite album over the past few months has been Plaid's "Not four threes" on Warp, best thing I've heard since In-Sides. I've only just come back on the list after a 6 month break to pay of British Telecom so little funds for new records till now. Any recommendations much appreciated ! Cheers and good to be back. :) Ch - -- _ _ _ / _. _/ http://graffiti.virgin.net/mark.sd/home.htm //)(/(/ /(._) (/(__ email: mark.sd@virgin.net (remove nospam.) # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info orbital" in the message. # Postings must go to orbital@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info orbital" in the message. # Postings must go to orbital@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jan 1998 09:38:58 -0700 (MST) From: "Lazlo Nibble" Subject: Re: (orbital) Questions involving trak listings >> 1. Actually Dubnobass is their *fifth* album if you count the two albums they did as Freur in the early 1980s (Doot Doot and Get Us Out Of Here). Which should count as much as the other two Underworld albums do, since they have the same folks in common (Rick and Karl). - -- ::: Lazlo (lazlo@swcp.com; http://www.swcp.com/lazlo) ::: Internet Music Wantlists: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo/Wantlists # Need help using (or leaving) this mailing list? # Email majordomo@xmission.com with "info orbital" in the message. # Postings must go to orbital@xmission.com -- replies go to original sender. # Orbital discography: http://www.swcp.com/lazlo-bin/discogs?orbital ------------------------------ Date: Wed, 28 Jan 1998 20:37:24 -0000 From: "Price, Steve A" Subject: (orbital) 51 Orbital Tracks online at LOOPZ!
