Here's a thought. Maybe the companies don't care when the stamp artwork is reproduced mechanically IF the artwork is being used in a magazine with widespread distribution AND the stamp is properly credited. After all, it's a great form of advertisement (and free) for the stamp manufacturer. There have been a number of times I have gotten my fanny down to the stamp store to pick up a stamp I saw used in a magazine in that fashion. Naturally, the stamp manufacturer makes money on this. However, if *I* were to do the same thing, then take it down to my local craft store to SELL, I wouldn't feel so confident that the company could care less. Just my opinion. And I *know* that every card they or other stamping publications reproduce is not exclusively "Angel" images. But then the non angel stamp companies seem to think that's ok. That large publications that make lots of money from sent in artwork that they don't pay for can go right ahead and do it, but little Jane Doe who only wants to sell a dozen cards at a church sale cannot. I probably have over 150 stamps now, which seems like a lot to me, but I'm sure is just the beginning! Only 20 of these are unmounted, and I know I hope to add a lot to the collection. Well, if you read all the way to here let me just say I appreciate it. I know intro's can get old real fast! I look forward to creating many cyber friends through this list, and hope to hear from some of you soon! She attached the pins to a white glossy cs card with strawberries and the phrase "Friends, like flowers, give pleasure just by being there". Nice card too Maxine! I am so excited because I now know what all the pin talk is about. I can't wait to make some of my own for the Greenville convention. Hope to meet some list members in October! LONG LONG LONG WARNING Non Stamping and VERY VERY LONG!!!!! I need to unload so if you don't mind I could really use an ear (or several). I am going absolutly nuts this week trying to decide about these pups. I can't believe how much stress I am letting this cause me! I can't even sleep anymore!!!!! Last night I cried and cried and my stomach is all in knots! Let me back up a bit. When we moved down here it was our intent to get settled and then have another child or two. A nice quiet little life. HA! Well, getting settled still hasn't occured since it took over a year to sell our house and then the builder defaulted on all the new house bills leaving us with a royal mess which we are STILL trying to clean up. And they thought I had cancer and while I didn't - I did have to have surgery and after 6 months and thousands of dollars spent that we desparatly needed for a new used car - we STILL can't drink our water. It's been one thing after another and my DH is so exhausted from all the stress he doesn't even know if he wants more kids. I'm mega stressed too! Then on top of everything else -2 pups pop into our lives - we didn't even want that. Both of us were really pleased with one dog and basically having a touch time dealing with what we have at this time in our lives. Now I'm not sorry I brought them home, I know I had to but I am rather sorry I'm the one who found them. I feel like I'm in a lose-lose situation. 1/2 the time I don't mind the pups (they ARE so cute) and the other half (probably when I'm scrubbing shit off the floor at 5am!) wants to find them homes - if we can. Well, we had them to the vet yesterday and knew they had ticks, fleas and worms but also found out they have LICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! God I swear I feel like I have things crawling all over me ever since. I know lice can be common in schools etc but we have never had it and it gives me the creeps! Its supposed to be host lice, not head lice so less chance of leaving its victim but the vet said we may want to wash our hair with the doggie lice/flea/tick shampoo to be on the safe side! YUCK!!!!!! It has warnings all over the bottle, says hazardous to humans and domestic animals. He said he and his staff use it periodically on their hair to be safe but still........................I'm grossed out and very concerned about using this stuuf but afraid if I don't too! We are to shampoo the pups weekly and then spray them with a flea tick spray daily on them. Since they are only about 10 weeks old, they can't get some of the more effective meds for this stuff. Doc seems to think it should be under controll in a week but until it is under controll I feel like I need to sterilize everything - plus it may take longer for the worms. They go back in 3 weeks for their next exam. If, despite all the shampooing and spraying they are still scratching at that time then he will have to do some skin tests to check for other more serious skin problems. If they have certain ones, we may even have to put them down (vets words). Meanwhile, I'm feeling like I've put my entire family at risk, probably because I have - I thought with that 'DURN' heart of mine instead of my head and got in trouble once again, when will I learn!!!!! We have confined them to their 2 by 4 crate until they are better but do take them outside everyday to run around. Before I was letting them run in the garage for a couple hours every morning, afternoon and evening as I don't think its good to have them locked up all the time but now, with all this stuff we only let them run outside. I know they can't help it but I guess I'm already so tired out and now even more work. OK so I said we knew about pups etc, well we have never had any that weren't taken care of - these little guts are an unbelievable mess! Also, the vet says they are a hound mix but doesn't think a beagle as their feet are too big. Still, when the boy (Oh by the way its a boy and a girl - she was the timid one but is getting better, tail even wags now!) got his shots he yelped and both the doc and his assistant said he sounded just like a beagle. BTW - the timid little girl didn't make a peep or even squirm! The vet really did not want to even venture a guess as to what breeds they are because they are still so young and need to develop more. He was quite certain about the hound and then said, reluctantly after we pressed him, maybe some rottweiler too! Well I know now I was worried about dobys but I'm more worried about rottweilers. A few of you wrote me about them and being good but apparently they have had a lot of bad press as even the vet said that could be good or bad depending on how you feel about them. Plus my mom said that one by her mauled a woman recently. not something I wanted to hear! Yikes! So on top of all their problems, They could be quite large. We live in a neighborhood and I'm worried if they are rottweilers they may hurt someone when they are older. And then the hound, don't they just bark and bark? We'll have all the neighbors pissed at us! I am thinking they will be wanting to wander off - chasing after scents and killing things all the time. I find myself wondering if they will make a good family pet? I believe a certain amount of the dogs behavior is learned by how they are cared for and taught but aren't they born with certain hereditary dispositions too? We have no idea what type of environment they came from but based on their condition and the fact they were dumped - - I'd guess it wasn't a good one. Last night I thought and thought and barely slept a wink even though I tried. So much is going round in my head. I feel like I don't want them but then I do, back and forth worse than a ping pong ball!!! This morning I lay there and finally thought we really had to find them different homes, that we never wanted more dogs and it was good we saved their lives but they can't stay. I feel so tired out and had actually felt pretty stressed prior to the pups so with this extra work I'm teetering here! Of course, I don't know that we could try to adopt them out now, probably need to wait until they are bug free but DH said we could just tell people in advance and let them decide. Still I feel like I sure wouldn't get a lice infested dog and puppies are hard enough to find homes for. We may loose some good people who are scared off etc. by the lice - cause in a way thats whats happening to me but its more than that. So I told my hubby that we would find them homes and I told our son who now hates me and thinks I'm terrible despite the fact I told him from the start we may not keep them. Initially I felt much better after the decision was made - that was until I was faced with possibly actually giving them up. Then I tell my friend, who has been interested in one of the dogs anyway and I KNOW she would give her a great home and she is going to check with her vet. After I do that, I find myself back wondering if I really want to get rid of them. All three of us are partial to the timid little girl although the boy is cute too, just a dickens and unbelievably curious! I find myself remembering how yesterday morning they each grabbed a shoelace and were all over my feet, I could barely walk but it was great to see them to happy and playful, even our little miss shy. Why am I doing this? I know there are no guarantees even with a purebread but gosh, what if they are over 1oo pounds and terrible violent! The vet said he could tell more about the weight in 3-6 weeks. Do I need to feel in a rush to get rid of them? The longer they stay the harder it will be for us and maybe them too if we part. I'm going nuts!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't know what to do!!!!!!
