I was reading a thread on the newsgroups...that Ebay closes auctionnes if you try to sell more then one item on one listing..In other words I have all the foils..I sell one at .50 cents and say YOUR CHOICE..and at the end I say you can have as many as you want at the .50 cents final fee..Ebay of course loses out on all the listing fees and final value fees if you listed them separately... First of all I didn't think they had time to CARE...but having said that, what do you think? In theory, people could do that in my auctionne and I assume have done so, but it never occurred to me to care and now that I have thought about it, I decided I still don't care.... Should I...;) am I missing the chance to be rich!!!!! This would only alienate people. They're one of the very few internet companies making any money, and quite a lot, so quite how losing out on 25 cents for a card is going to hurt them, I'm not sure. Putting the poor interface to one side, they charge a set fee for postage. This was about forty dollars for five cards because they were not cheap ones. When I declined on that basis, they offered me only 20 dollars for postage. Hardly cheap but I went ahead anyway. Unfortunately this was now the next day, and the prices of some of the cards had doubled. Example: Skymotion cards were now fifty dollars instead of twenty five, so needless to say I've dropped the idea again. arif.ansari@virgin.net To Unsubscribe from TrekChat send and put "unsubscribe trekchat" in the body without the quotes. -- Previous message archives are available via WWW at: or via FTP at: ftp.xmission.com --in-- /home/ftp/pub/lists/trekchat/archive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Lynne Stewart" Subject: RE: (TrekChat) Date: Wed, 4 Apr 2001 16:57:21 -0400 Date: 05 Apr 2001 17:22:08 -0400 OK, then I'm confused...:) I agree with ya! I think that you have to balance your rules/policies/whatever need for fees you have with providing a place where clients WANT to be, where they think you want THEM and not just their fees. Lording over them and closing auctionnes cause you think they are cheating you out of fees, is, in the long-run counterproductive. Am I cynical cause I think Ebay isn't customer oriented enough? If so, do tell me some happy Ebay stories!!! Bakula, best known for playing Dr. Sam Beckett on NBC's popular time-travel series, "Quantum Leap," is negotiating to play Jackson Archer, the headstrong captain of the newest "Trek" starship, reports trektoday.com. The "Trek" role could catapult Bakula into cult status, as he would be following in the footsteps of other popular "Trek" Captains, William Shatner (James T. Kirk, "Star Trek"), Patrick Stewart (Jean-Luc Picard, "Star Trek: The Next Generation"), Avery Brooks (Benjamin Sisko, "Deep Space Nine") and Kate Mulgrew (Kathryn Janeway, "Voyager"). Bakula's reps declined to comment yesterday. Like other "Star Trek" projects in development, details about the new show are shrouded in secrecy. But Captain Archer - according to a casting sheet for the new show - is a physical, intensely curious captain with a bold personality. The latest "Trek" show is said to take place many years before all four other series, when the show's stars and their spaceships did not yet resemble high-tech, space-bound versions of "The Love Boat." ************* From what i hear this is like WAY a rumor, but I want it said, I will D I E if true, I'd leave my husband for Scott Bakula!
