Anyone know how many these will be limited to? But other than that, can anyone really get too excited by this set? I mean it just reminds me of TOS Ann 1 - 3. A load of mediocre actors who us collectors think hard and go "oh, yes, I remember him/her". And some people pay a load for the whole set. And two months later they're selling for about $6 each. I agree that some of the characters, Dr M'Benga, Amanda, Dr Dehner etc, are better than some of those previously offered. But none make you go wow. It's not so much the choice, it's just that it's all been done three times before. One other good thing though, at least we're not being subjected to another round of the core crew again, like Scotty for the fourth time. So, to play devils'a dvocate...if it's GOOD that he didn't reu use the mail crew (beyond the two biggies), then why is it bad that he uses mediocre actors? I mean, it's kina an either or thing, isn't it? Big names or no names? And, I was sooo sorry not to see Kathryn Hayes on the list, I know they tried to get her, but she didn't seem to be found :sniffle: and I realllly wanted her...... When I say mediocre, I'm not referring to their acting skills, but their level of fame within the Star Trek universe. What I'm not happy about is getting a list of actors autos which you don't feel excited about, but might feel obliged to collect, if you're a completist. I mean how many of them would you queue up at a Star Trek convention for, a few maybe. Anyway, I agree with your last point. It is big names or no names. And I'm voting for no names. Don't get me wrong, when they were first released, I was as pleased as anyone. But it's been done now, someone else got their first. (Him as it goes, working for Skybox). I'd love to see it go in another direction, If I gotta get one, new names, even small ones is better then repeats. And, to their credit 3 autos per box is awesome....packs per box is down, but that doesn't bother me much, less common cards I never sell anyway.. It doesn't give you a whole lot of options too. You need Corel Photo Paint which is included with:. CorelDRAW® 10 Graphics Suite Trial Version http://www3.corel.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=Corel/TrialSoftware/Details&id=CC10Z9NOVSM As I recall it has a nifty little compression tool. You might be able to find something comparable on cnet too. There's tons of good stuff there. http://download.cnet.com/downloads/0-10000.html?tag=stbc.gp Hope you got a fast connection. ;) Or send the file to me and I can fiddle with it on my Corel 8. Basically I think Rittenhouse should allow Skybox to do one last Voyager set that wraps up the series because the license was taken so close to the end of the series that Skybox should be allowed to commemorate the final year or so of Voyager's run Ah, thats just my .02 anyway Steve _________________________________________________________________ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp To Unsubscribe from TrekChat send and put "unsubscribe trekchat" in the body without the quotes. -- Previous message archives are available via WWW at: or via FTP at: ftp.xmission.com --in-- /home/ftp/pub/lists/trekchat/archive ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Lynne Stewart" Subject: RE: (TrekChat) Sure this must have been brought up before... Charendoff didn't *take* the license. SkyBox's license expired and Paramount chose to go in a different direction. Although I am grateful to SkyBox for everything they did over the years, I was ready for a change. I had been frustrated with SkyBox's sports mentality for quite awhile. TNG Profiles about cost me to lose my lunch once or twice.... Not that Rittenhouse is perfect or all-seeing, but I did think an entertainment only company would suit us better. > > Granted you could say "well, they didn't know how long the show > was going to > be on" but anyone who knows Trek knows that they go 7 seasons and > that's it. > > Basically I think Rittenhouse should allow Skybox to do one last > Voyager set > that wraps up the series because the license was taken so close > to the end > of the series that Skybox should be allowed to commemorate the > final year or > so of Voyager's run Or perhaps Rittenhouse needs to finish the series in an episode format style similar to what SkyBox did.
