From: "Lynne Stewart" Subject: (TrekChat) Binder advice Date: 02 Feb 2002 20:52:59 -0500 I'm thinking of getting all new binders for my cards that don't have official binders as my stuff is is mish-mashed...anyone have a brand they think does best? Issues: I hate it when you lift it off the shelf and the pages sorta dip out the bottom... I don't want anything peeking out the sides and I don't like the idea of the pages having a chance to slide up over the rings and getting dinged... Ultra Pro makes some, and I have others that do not have a noticeable brand name anywhere. They seem like great quality binders for a surprisingly low price ($5-6 the last time I bought one, though I have not bought a new one in a while.) The rings are D-shaped, so they hold the pages straight rather than around a curve. They are generously sized so nothing sticks out. on 2/2/02 5:52 PM, Lynne Stewart at lynne@jklm.net wrote: > > I'm thinking of getting all new binders for my cards that don't have > official binders as my stuff is is mish-mashed...anyone have a brand they > think does best? > Issues: > I hate it when you lift it off the shelf and the pages sorta dip out the > bottom... > I don't want anything peeking out the sides > and I don't like the idea of the pages having a chance to slide up over the > rings and getting dinged... > Lynne > Lynne Stewart http://www.jklm.net/index.html > KLM Enterprises, Inc. I suppose they look nice, but are they really collectible? Autographed cards, at conventions, etc, are also 'altered' after-market to increase value, but the autograph makes it another kind of collectible, or 'cross-collectible.' I mean... 1. anyone with the proper equipment could make it, so you could end up with a diamond 1 of 1, a star 1 of 1 a silver 1 of 1..where exactly does it end??? 2. Do you really wanna collect a 1 of 1 for each and every common card out there???!!!!! 3. at some point the idea of official has to come into play....you have this card..does that stamp make it more valuable or collectible? A card to me, needs to be NEW somehow, the addition of a stamp to a common card shouldn't make it mean anything, but I wonder if we WOULD consider it collectible if Rittenhouse was the one doing it? If the company authorizes and makes it, does that give it an inherent value?? I avoided the foil cards from Decipher..mostly cause of cost...I did collect the cinema 2000 foil cards where the only difference is a foil, mostly cause it wasn't that hard to do or expensive that I didn't give it much thought..had those been reallllly rare, I couldda ignored them too. The PP's from WofV might be a different story since they do have a different back. Lynne Lynne Stewart http://www.jklm.net/index.html KLM Enterprises, Inc. Home of the Trek Card Geek! I got errr...quite an education tonight :) It's amazing the things you can do with hypnosis... Anyway, I always wondered..would it be possible to limit the descriptions that can be included with the auctionne and the search ONLY indexes this search. Maybe just a search on keywords or condition, some things really limiting the scope of a seach..then all that fluff doesn't show up...I mean some of the descriptions are incredibly long and STUFFED fulla words! Course you could give them an area to type all that stuff up..or their terms of sale, it just wouldn't search on that....what ya think!!! He commented he'd received no bids and later posted this: ** every saturday, i buy 4 packs of cards at $3.50. if i do not need the rares i put them on my site to get back my money. the shipping covers my gas, envelope and stamp. i run my auction longer than e-bay or other sellers. i stop at the higher price in scyre to set the buy out price. if a card is listed lower i will honor that price. you could waste you time and gas to look for a card, or you can let me. you decide. thank you for your time. feed back is welcome. *** Now, here's my question, if the pack is $3.50, shouldn't each card start at $1.25? using that logic, I mean :) Jest wonderin'.
