All DSL users have a static IP address
What can I do with an IP address you ask? You could setup your own email or web server; use it to access an external network that requires secure accesses or use with a VPN connection. For more information on how to utilize your static IP address please contact our support department.

Windows updates
If you don’t have automatic updates enabled on your computer it’s a good idea to check for Windows updates to keep your computer up to date. This is one way to help protect yourself from security breaches. You can do this by going to start, and selecting windows updates. Use Windows Update to choose updates for your computer’s operating system, software, and hardware. New content is added to the site regularly, so you can always get the most recent updates and fixes to protect your computer and keep it running smoothly.
Disk Defragmenter
Is your computer running slower than usual? To increase computer speed and performance it is good to occasionally defragment your hard drive. You can do this by going to start, programs, accessories, systems tools and select disk defragmenter.
Disk Defragmenter locates fragmented files and folders on local volumes. A fragmented file or folder is split up into many pieces and scattered over a volume.
When a volume contains a lot of fragmented files and folders, Windows takes longer to gain access to them because it requires several additional disk drive reads to collect the various pieces. Creating new files and folders also takes longer because the free space available on the volume is scattered. Windows must then save new files and folders to various locations on the volume.
Disk Defragmenter moves the pieces of each file or folder to one location on the volume, so that each occupies a single, contiguous space on the disk drive. As a result, your system can gain access to your files and folders and save new ones more efficiently. By consolidating your files and folders, Disk Defragmenter also consolidates your free space, making it less likely that new files will be fragmented.
Google Maps is an online service that allows users in the U.S. and Canada to find location information, navigate through maps, and get directions quickly and easily. Google Maps has several unique features:
Draggable maps – you can click and drag Google maps to view adjacent sections; no more long waits while new areas download.
Integrated Local search results – Google Maps integrates local search results from Google Local. So to find a pizza place, simply type in "pizza in San Jose", and pizza places appear at various locations on your map, with phone numbers for each location on the right side of the page.
Turn-by-turn directions – Type in an address and Google Maps plots the route for you, displaying it visually on the map itself, together with step-by-step directions for getting there (or back from there). When you click on one of these steps (say, "turn left"), you see a floating bubble with a magnified view of the area mentioned in the directions.
Keyboard shortcuts – You can use arrow keys to pan left, right, up and down. The Page Up, Page Down, Home and End keys let you pan out even wider. And you can zoom in with the plus (+) key and zoom out with the minus (-) key.
Enjoy a view from the sky - Want to see what your target location looks like in real life? Check out our satellite view, which gives you access to satellite and aerial images of your locations that you can zoom in, zoom out, or pan in any direction. (You won’t experience any long reload times when you drag images in the satellite view, either.) To access this view, click "Satellite" at the top right corner of the Google Maps page. Your locations will appear as aerial images until you click “Maps” to toggle the view back
