UTOPIA–update

XMission can now order Utopia fiber for some residential customers in Orem, Lindon & Murray.  Initially, the area of coverage will be limited, but will be expanding quickly.  UTOPIA service will eventually reach every house and business within these cities. Currently we are offering Internet access and by the first of next year we will be offering Voice over IP and later on next year we will be offering TV/Video service. XMission will initially be offering a 15 Megabit connection.  Soon we expect to open that up to speeds of 50 and 100 Megabit.
 
Coming soon… more email storage

This fall we will be upgrading to a more powerful email server.  This will dramatically increase mail delivery speeds and allow us to offer significantly more email storage for all of our customers. In addition, mail filtering will be made easier and more reliable.
 
Wireless in the city

 XMission is offering FREE wireless access along Main Street between5 00 S and South Temple. Wireless Internet is already is available at the Main Library and at the Gallivan Center. If you have a laptop with wireless capabilities and want to surf the web or check email, Main Street now can be your portal.  In addition, surfers should be able to connect up wirelessly at Pioneer Park by the fall and at Liberty Park by next year.  Look for stickers, posters and brochures advertising, "You're in the zone"  

New web mail layout

As most of you have noticed we recently upgraded our webmail program, the new version includes some wonderful additions, including: * Report messages as either "spam" or "ham" to help XMission's spam    filtering (NOTE: "ham" refers to valid email). * Whitelisting email addresses now available, as well as blacklisting. * Virtual folders support. * The ability to fetch mail from other, remote mail servers and display    them in your XMission mailbox. * Many bug fixes. * Link attachments via a virtual file system (so you can send a browser    link instead of actual files via email). * Improved calendaring that allows iCal and Free/Busy URL integration. * New threading and message view options. * HTML editing for message composition.While the new version of XMission's webmail server (webmail.xmission.com)incorporates many new features and bug fixes, some customers preferred the old version so we decided to give people the option to use the older version by choosing a handy link on the webmail login page or going directly to: http://oldmail.xmission.com

New web hosting accounts & increase of features for existing hosting packages

We have added two new hosting accounts to our selection of web hosting packages as well as bulked up our existing hosting packages.  We now offer Value and Select web hosting accounts, which nicely compliment our existing hosting options.

$10 Value web hosting is designed for the basic informational website written in HTML and possibly containing some Flash elements.  This package is a perfect starting point for a site that stays relatively static.

$35 Select hosting is ideal for dynamic websites that change to fit each visitor individually.  This package is excellent for websites that need high performance with very fast response.

Existing web hosting customers can now enjoy the benefit of added features.  We have increased the number of email boxes, storage space, email quota & transfer limits.
