The cashmere goat is no longer available.  Her name is Amanda.

These 100% wool slippers are hand felted using the traditional method of first forming a skin in the oversized shape of the intended finished garment and then hand felting the mold to the actual foot.  Since I cannot handfelt these slippers to your feet sell the felted oversized mold completed.  You then provide the feet, hot water and soap and shrink them to fit the intended foot.  Not only are these great gifts for loved ones, they will especially appreciate the foot massage that goes with them.   Directions included.  $35 plus shipping.  Contact me for more details at 3smiths@xmission.com.

Heritage Hand-woven linen towels and hand-made soap

P000172.JPG (443588 bytes)

Above is a close-up of one of my specialties:  linen face cloths with hand made soap, hand towels and bath sheets.

These are all hand-woven from 100% white natural wet-spun line linen in a lace pattern.  They look fragile but really are quite strong and durable, wash in the washing machine and dry in the dryer.  Linen is far more absorbant than other bast fibers and gets stronger when it is wet.  It was once common-place to have your towels and sheets made out of 100% linen and that was for very practical purposes.   Discover the magic of real heritage "linens" once again.

Face cloths with soap:  $18

Hand towels: $28

Bath Towels: $100

1 set (includes one of each: $130)

This shawl is created from my angora goats.   It is hand raised, hand sheared, rainbow-dyed in the skein, hand spun (tail spun with a silk thread binder) and hand knit.  It won best of show at the Snake River Fiber Festival in Idaho Falls.  Once again, modeled by the artist at Back of the Wasatch Fiber Festival. Photo by Scott Kendall of Rio Oso Farms. Price:  $450

Hand Painted and Embellished Cashmere Sweater

P000183.JPG (377740 bytes)

"The Garden"  I start with a Land's End Quality 100% Cashmere sweater and then carefully hand paint and enbellish it with hand spun cording that has been hand beaded.  $175.  This is definitely one of a kind.

Want to see a close-up of the trim?

P000184.JPG (515427 bytes)

As you can see, the beads are glass and crystal and turquoise and old chinese coins.  All works of art in themselves, they add a distinctive look to this sweater and a bit of a jingle when you swoosh by!
