Microsoft software
--
Need I say more?
- IBM Personal Computer (TM) "compatible"
computers -- They are unreliable, buggy, piles of
junk. They waste more of my time than I can
in good conscience accept as a good thing.
It is a constant fight to keep from losing
data, putting up with crashes, setting up
correctly to get anything productive
done.
- Hewlett Packard -- Now a shell of their once
great selves. Totally ruined by the PHB's
and spreadsheet jockeys. Examples:
- CDRW burner which cost a whopping
$400! And this piece of junk couldn't even
write to an HP brand RW disk formatted for
general file use more than about 4-5 times
in adding files before trashing the format
and losing massive numbers of files due to
some form of indexing/directory contamination
that rendered the files inaccessible.
- Then to make matters worse, their customer
support was only available *after* paying
their technical support just for the privilege
of kissing their golden rear ends. No guarantee
that you would be able to obtain satisfaction.
- LaserJet 1100 -- This steaming pile of feces
is total junk. After only one year, would
feed multiple pages repeatedly if the document
being printed exceeds about 10-25 sheets
in double-sided printing mode. Doesn't matter
if you do each set of page sides yourself
or by the driver. Then after the "fix"
(a special tool to put a new foam pad on
top of the original bad one), it still does
it after another couple of years. If you
want to save paper (for environmental reasons)
you'll have to baby-sit every sheet feed
to prevent multiple sheet feeds that will
ruin your print job.
- RPN calculators. -- This will get a whole
page write up later. What a shame. I remember
the quality of the HP-25 I used to be able
to use at a friend's house. Once owned an HP-67 (should have never sold it),
and I lost an HP-11C (classic w/ double-injection
molded in buttons and three button cell batteries).
Boy, I wish I hadn't lost that 11C.
- Corporate America -- CEO's that get rewarded
for laying off thousands (even 10's of thousands)
of employees, while lining their pockets
with "Golden Parachutes" (even
if they totally fail!). I'm betting that there will be lots of CEO's and PHB's
that will burn in Hell come Judgement Day!
- The list goes on, but I'll have to get back
to it.
