Tang Chinese Steppe Falconer at Court

A Twilight of Empires

Lords of the Earth, Campaign 13

Temporary Leaders

This is, in part, an addendum to 7.1.10 on Temporary Leaders, 7.1.12 on Leader Death, and as well alters 7.2.4.1.

During the course of the game, it happens that troops are left without leaders. When an "uncommanded" Fortress, City, Garrison, or Army is attacked or besieged, it will be assigned a Temporary Leader. This may be considered to be the next in line of command, lacking the status, staff, or training to be a full-fledged replacement leader, as would appear at the capitol at the start of the following turn.

Such temp leaders may not move, or engage in any but defensive actions with the region they are "promoted." As they come into play only when the enemy is at the gates, no "prepared defense" bonus may apply.

These leaders disappear at the end of the turn in which they arise except in unusual cases. A T leader may also persist whenever campaign situations require it, as determined by the GM. See also Native Armies.
