Lambda Services
Our Durst LAMBDA provides computerized laser technology that prints on traditional
photographic materials for fast, large format, continuous tone prints. Quantities
are easily printed, making color flyers or pamphlets an ideal and cost effective
option. Type is sharp, white is pure white, and image border size and border
color can be specified. Prints have a life expectancy similar to or better
than that of a traditional color print.
The Lambda Traditional
print is offered
on
either glossy or matte in widths up to 50 inches.
Our Lambda Flex can
turn your prints into Ilfochrome-like prints. It provides
high gloss, exceptional durability, high contrast, and excellent
color saturation.
The Lambda Metallic is
a color paper with a unique metallic appearance. The base
provides tear-resistant prints with a writeable back. It
has a durable resistance to wear and less dust buildup.
Our Day / Night paper
is a double-sided emulsion paper. This paper is both translucent
and reflective. It displays with both rear and front lighting
for both day and night viewing.
Display Prints
Duratrans or Lambda Trans is a translucent material which
is designed for displays with rear lighting.
Our Lambda Duraclear is
a material similar to duratrans with the exception that the
material is clear instead of frosted. This paper is ideal
for window displays without back lighting.
We offer quantity discounts
for multiple print orders from the same original. Please

Lambda turn around is based
on file preparation and scan time which can vary according
to lab work load.
Prints that require PMS
color matching will require additional time for output.
One test strip is available
at no charge. Further requested print tests will incur a
charge at 20% of the print price. Bear in mind, tests extend
the completion due date of the order according to the test
results and work load limitations.
File Preparation
Lambda files should be prepared in RGB then typically
saved as TIF or EPS files. Supported programs include Photoshop,
Illustrator, Pagemaker, Indesign, Quark Xpress, Corel Draw
and Freehand.
Save files with a DPI of 200 at final
output size.
When creating a postscript file be
sure you set the page size to actual size in the page setup
feature of the program you're using.
Delete channels or paths and flatten
all layers. Digital manipulation or color modification
for color matching may require additional charges.
Lambda Scans
Lambda prints are printed directly from digital
files or from scanned transparencies or negatives. Scans
for Lambdas are based on 100-200 DPI and the charges
reflect a print order pricing reduction.
If a larger scan is desired then
our price per MB is charged. Scans are not available
for preprint manipulation purposes. Scans will be purged
from computer within 48 hours of job completion unless
archiving has been requested. A CD of your scan is available
at no charge if requested with initial order.
