Red mallee burl is arguably the most beautiful wood in the world. The Burl Source has one of the largest selections of this fantastic material anywhere in the world....outside of OZ. It is a brilliant red burl that is typically fairly small rarely exceeding 25lbs in weight. Our Aussie supplier has shipped us a number of these caps that exceed that and are still of excellent quality. We have in excess of 150 caps that range from 3lbs on up to 125lbs! As of Jan. 1, 04 we have been informed that the supply of red mallee burl caps on the east coast of Australia has been virtually exhausted. Unless some new sources are located, this fantastic burl may disappear from the market place. These are all new pictures on the following pages (all up to date as of Oct 29, 07). Generally speaking the first pages are the largest caps available at this time, and get progressively smaller on the following pages. (Page 1 has the largest caps and page 7 has the smallest.)
