The baby is finally here!

Emma Marie Callahan was born January 17th at 2:39 PM MST. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz and was 19 inches long.

The past couple of weeks have been pretty rough around the edges here. We are really working hard to make breastfeeding work. It's really important to me since I was so sick as a child. I can't help but think that breast feeding would have prevented some of the many stays in the hospital that my sister and I endured in childhood. I had a reduction when I was 20, though, so I'm working through some complications from that. Hopefully all will work out. I have a great support system set up, but meanwhile, Emma is struggling to put back on the weight she initially lost before we really figured out what was going on.

I have pictures for you! I hope I have enough space on the server to put them all there. There are some lovely shots of me in labor, pre and post epidural. It's very easy to see which is which. I do have some more around but not converted into pretty html yet.

We are so busy, this is about all I have time for. Time to feed again really soon!
