Issue:Unable to run or error with downloaded
file.
Cause:
You may be unable to run or may receive
an error with a file downloaded from the Internet or BBS because of
any of the below possibilities.
- Other software or TSR causing
program to crash when run.
- Required utility not installed to
run or open file.
- File became or was corrupt when
downloaded.
Solution:Other software or TSR
causing program to crash when run
Verify that no open software or TSRs are open when attempting to run
or open the file. Other programs may cause the file to abort abnormally.

Required utility not
installed to run or open file
Verify that the file you are attempting to load has all necessary software
to run. Some programs may require additional programs to read or run the
file downloaded. Below is a listing of commonly downloaded programs and
what is required to run those files.

Requires a movie player, Windows 95 and above comes
preinstalled with a Windows Media player capable of playing
these files. |

These files should run automatically and require no other
additional software. |

This is an image file and requires an image program to open
these files. Most browsers are also capable of opening these

*.MPG |
Requires a movie player such as QuickTime to play these files. |

MPEG layer 3 music file, requires an audio program such as Winamp to
play these files. |

Real Audio file, requires Real Audio or Player. |

These files are compressed archives and require a third-party
decompression utility to access the contained files. |

File became or was
corrupt when downloaded
When a file is downloaded it is possible
for the file (especially when large files are downloaded) for that file
to become corrupt or bad. Attempt to download the file again to ensure
that this is not the case. If the same issue occurs, contact the web
administrator of the web site verifying if the file is a known good
file.
