How do I insert an image into a text file?
Question:
How do I insert an image into a text file?
Answer:A plaintext file, such as
a file with a ".txt" extension,
in Microsoft Windows can only have text and no type of formatted
text or images inserted into it. If you're working with this type of
a file it will need to be converted into a file format that supports
rich text.
To do this you can save the file as a different file format such
as .RTF of .DOC for users using Microsoft
Word or Microsoft WordPad.
Once the file has been changed, you can follow the below steps for
inserting an image into the text file.
Microsoft Word users
Microsoft Word users can copy
almost any type of image from any other program and simply paste
that image into the document at the location you want it to appear.
or
- Open Microsoft Word
- In Microsoft Word click Insert
- Click Picture
- Click either "Clip Art" or "From File"
Additional information: If the image you want to place into
your document is a file stored on your computer or something
you've taken, you would want to choose "From File" and
browse to the location of your image. If you do not have a picture
in mind and want to see some of the included clip
art that came with Microsoft Word, select "Clip Art".
Microsoft WordPad users
Microsoft WordPad users can copy
almost any type of image from any other program and simply paste
that image into the document at the location you want it to appear.
or
- Open Microsoft WordPad
- In Microsoft WordPad click Insert
- Click Object
- Select the type of image file you're inserting and click Ok
Other users

the image into the file. If your program is not listed above, try
copying the image and pasting it into your document.
