How do I display a page number in Microsoft word?
Answer:
When creating a document in in a word processor you may wish for
the page number to be printed on each of the pages in the document.
To do this follow the below steps for the word processor you're
using.
Microsoft Word
- Open Microsoft Word.
- Click Insert and select Page Numbers.
- In the Page Numbers box specify the position you would like
the page numbers to appear at. For example, bottom right or top
right of the page.
- If you wish to change the format of how the numbers are
displayed such as displaying roman numeral numbers click the
Format button.
- Once you've finished adjusting the settings click Ok.
OpenOffice.org Writer
- Open OpenOffice Writer.
- Click Insert, Fields, and then click Page Number.
Doing the above steps will only insert the page number where the
cursor is currently positioned. If you wish for the page number to
be on each of your pages follow the below steps.
- Open OpenOffice Writer.
- Click Insert, Header or
Footer. Header if you want
the page number at the top of each of the page and footer if you
want it at the bottom of each of the pages.
- Click Default for the type of header or footer you want.
- Move the cursor to header or footer box displayed on the
first page and follow the above steps for inserting a Page
Number.
