Address bar

Also known as the location bar in Netscape, the Internet Explorer address bar is a name used to describe the text box used to enter a websites address in a browser. For example, for this page the address "http://www.computerhope.com/jargon/a/addrebar.htm" should be listed in your address bar, which is often at the top of the window. The address bar allows the user to enter a URL of the page they wish to visit or save that page for later. New browsers will also allow a user to click the down arrow to view recently visited pages. Below are example of what the address bar may look like in your browser.
