Button

  1. When referring to hardware, a button is a physical switch that controls a function of a device. For example, the image to the right is an example of the power button found on the front of a computer, which turns it on and off.
  2. When referring to software, a button is what controls a feature in software. See our push-button dictionary definition for additional information and an example of this term.
