Compressed file

Files made as one file and is generally much smaller than the original size of all the files. This allows the file to be downloaded faster or more data to be stored on a removable media. Common compressed file extensions are .ZIP, .RAR, .ARJ, .TAR.GZ and .TGZ. Below is a larger listing of the different types of compressed files you may come across when working on a computer.
