Short for Double Data Rate, DDR2
is the second generation of DDR memory. DDR2 is capable of
operating at greater speeds of 400 MHz and higher, offers a greater
bandwidth potential, and operates at a lower power consumption
generating less heat. Because of the differences between DDR and
DDR2, DDR2 memory modules are incompatible with DDR slots.
