1. Also known as inline linking, hotlinking is the action of linking to an object on another
server. For example, many people who
are learning to create their own web page may link to an
image on
another server, which helps make creating their page easier. However,
this practice is not recommended as it may violate the
copyright of the image or object
being hotlinked and is also stealing the
bandwidth from the server hosting
the image. Instead of hotlinking objects such as images if
permission is granted you should copy the image or other object from
their server to your server or another
free image
page and link to it there.

2. A hotlink is also a connection between
a programs that allows a user to change information in one program while the computer changes
the same information in the program that it is linked to.
