spamming, link bombing, and a Google bomb, a link farm is a
collection of
web pages
often generated by
scripts
or bots
that contain numerous
links to other similar sites as well as sites trying to improve their
ranking in search
engines such as
Google.
A part of how Google PageRank works is how many other pages link to that site; if more pages are linking
to your page, Google will
move your
site higher in its results. Although this tactic may improve your
ranking, it's against all search engines' policies and can cause your
site and/or
domain to be removed completely from the search engine's
index.
