Name Server Protocol

Abbreviated as NSP, a Name Server Protocol is used with Transmission Control Protocol / Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) connections. The name server is responsible for taking requests of other computers on a network and providing that computer with a name-to-number translation known as an Internet Protocol (IP). It answers requests from users to help them get to the computer or information they want.
