THE WORLD'S ONLY PINBALL SHOWCASE!
This is your invitation to join pinball collectors & enthusiasts from around
the world at Pinball Expo '98 taking place October 22-25 in Rosemont,
Illinois. We are excited to have put together another action-acked weekend
of pinball festivities.
Our program begins with a tour of Genesis Inc. This firm, which
manufactures pinball ramps, bottom arches and other components for the major
pinball producers, is also credited with the concept and design of Sega's
Showcase Backbox. They are also responsible for the design and manufacture
of "Playing For Keeps" which was created for the Museum of The Rockies. This
one-of-a-kind game can be seen during the tour of this facility.
The Fireside Chat continues to be an exiting part of Pinball Expo. Roger
Sharpe will talk of his days of writing and designing and will shed some
light on the future of this industry and how he feels attendees can help
keep it alive. Joe Kaminkow, of Sega Pinball, will return this year to also
share his views of the pinball industry.
A multitude of seminars are planned featuring many new speakers. Richard
Lawnhurst will grace our show with a video presentation of his wonderful
50's colletion. Scott Tiesma will be speaking on his pinball newsletter and
Scott Sheridan will discuss what should be in your pinball toolbox. A very
speacial treat that has been in the making for over five years will be the
appearance of Christian Marche. This proflific artist, who created over 100
backglasses, worked for Ad Posters from 1964 to 1978 and did work for Bally,
Chicago Coin, and Williams. Some of his art includes "Dixieland", "Space
Mission", and "Grand Prix" to name just a few. We are truly fortunate to
have this gentleman join us as he leaves his home in France to share some
anecdotes of his illustrious career.
The Flip Out Tournaments continue to be a challenge for all attendees who
wish to enter this arena and will offer a wide variety of divisions for all
levels of players. We wish to extend a special thank you to Gary Stern and
Joe Kaminkow for supporting our show and making this year's tournament
possible.
The banquet will allow attendees the opportunity to visit with their many
old and new friends. This year's event will include the Make-A-Wish Charity
Auction as well as a special tribute to Richard Bueschel. Mark Ritchie,
pingame designer and former Director of Engineering at Capcom, will be our
guest speaker.
We hope you are able to join in the festivities that make Pinball Expo a
must-attend event for pinball lovers around the world.
