Mr. Pinball Tip:

Many light sockets in the playfield can be replaced without too much hassle and is definitely recommened over this method, but the ones in the backglass or somewhere that is difficult to get tools in to, can be nearly impossible.

Here is a last resort solution; Access the back side of the socket and locate the small brown 'bakelite' washer. Put 2 drops of gun oil on the washer, within a few hours (possibly overnight) this washer will expand and the socket should work again. If you cannot reach the backside of the socket, just put 4 drops down the bulb socket. Allow plenty of time for this washer to soak up the oil before condemning a bad socket. I hope this tip works as well for you as it did for me.
