This project allows the system's root filesystem, swap space, and other devices/partitions to be fully encrypted. Encryption is one method of securing data that is stored on your system. When the kernel is loaded at boot, it transfers control to this project's key component, linuxrc. This script activates the device-mapper facility within the linux kernel and prepares to use encryption as specified; it then transfers control to the standard startup program, /sbin/init.
