I finally got around to installing Slackware 13 on a Samsung NC10 netbook. This was an upgrade from a previous install of Slackware 12.2 with Dropline Gnome. I would really prefer Dropline Gnome, but it doesn't look like it is coming out soon for Slackware 13.0. This install has a fairly vanilla XFCE install, but with a few extra gadgets added. Also installed are Skype and Google Earth. I was pleasantly surprised that this netbook has the horsepower to run Google Earth.

Features:

  • Device Mapper based disk encryption
  • Standard Slackware 13.0, but with updated Linux kernel (2.6.30.10)
