	The old cabins I have seen here in Oregon and western Canada have all
been 
10 or so ft by 12 to 16 ft with a low roof, some as low as 4 ft.  Part
of the cabins 
also look to have been dug out to give room to stand up inside.  Over
the last 25
years the B.L.M. and U.S.F.S. have burned most of the old cabins and
mine buildings 
down in western Oregon.
