Something else that has been ignored is artistic license on the part 
of Miller.  If you were at a voo and made sketches and the animals 
had cruppers and britchens, which would draw?  Both?  Who knows, who 
will ever know?  Was Miller as meticulous as we would like to think?  
Who knows?
Years later making his final paintings, which would be easier to 
paint, cruppers or britchens?  Artistic license just like the three 
legged pot.
Anyone that has ever worked critters in the mtns. much will take a 
britchen over a crupper any day.  Ask a packer.  Ask a mexican.
