Animal Care Veterinary Hospital

SURGERY

Many different types of surgery are performed at Animal Care Veterinary Hospital.  Surgeries range from the most common such as spays and neuters, to the repair of fractures or other orthopedic procedures.  Tumor removals, gastrotomy, C-sections, hernia repairs, and bladder stone removals are some of the many other surgeries that are done each day at Animal Care.

Your veterinarian makes every effort to provide a sterile field during surgery. Animals are prepared with a sterile iodine scrub and alcohol rinse.  Doctors use sterile gowns, gloves, and drapes to protect the surgical site.

Animals are monitored for pulse and safe oxygen concentration with new technology that shows a continuous pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.  This aids the veterinarians here to safely monitor anesthetic.
