OFFICE MANAGER / BOOKKEEPER
ASSIST Inc is a nonprofit Community Design Center founded in 1969. ASSIST provides community planning, architectural design and development assistance to nonprofit and community groups, and housing and accessibility design assistance to low income households or persons with disabilities.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Bookkeeping
- Prepare semi-monthly payroll, operating AP/AR and journal entries
- Prepare monthly billing reports for operating expenses and Emergency Home Repairs
- Reconcile bank statements and prepare monthly financial statements
Administrative/Loan Processing
- Provide assistance to Director, Home Repair and Access staff on administrative and clerical tasks
- Prepare statistical and other reports to funding agencies
- Purchase and maintain office supplies and equipment
- Provide coordination of deferred payment loan process
- Take minutes of monthly Board meeting
Reception
- Answer phones and greet visitors
- Make referrals to appropriate agencies
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School graduate and two years bookkeeping experience
- Careful, thoughtful and self-motivated work habits
- Accurate typing, 10 key by touch
- Proficiency with Quickbooks, Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel
- Desire to assist low income residents and persons with disabilities
- Experience or interest in nonprofit organizations required
SALARY/BENFITS:
Salary: Full time - $30,000/yr to start
