Volume 2, Issue 1, Release # 5 & 6, Summer 1991 (S.I. temporarily went semi-annual in 1991)

This semi-annual double disk release (#5-6) features non-fiction or fiction by science fiction authors Ben Bova, Jerry Pournelle & J. Neil Schulman; Rt.Lt.Gen. Daniel Graham; Economists George Benston, George Kaufman & Thomas Smith; Sysop-Attorney Paula Goldman; author Paul Levinson; & the League for Programming Freedom. Also includes latest issue (76-C) of the virus-detector, SCAN, by McAfee Associates.

This magazine was released in two machine formats. In MS-DOS form, it is a hypertext format (prior to HTML, special MS-DOS reader software is included). A plain ASCII version is available for Macintosh and Unix users. One of the two diskettes of this release is available in its MS-DOS format for FTP transmission immediately (dbate006.zip). The other half of this issue as well as the ASCII version of dbate006.zip is available in both file formats via mail order. The filename for immediate ftp transmission is DBATE006.ZIP (285KB)

This semi-annual double disk release (#7-8) features Nobel laureate Milton Friedman ("We Have Socialism, Q.E.D."); the Japan Economic Institute & Citizens Against Statistical Distortion Used to Further Protectionism (both on myths about the Japan-US trade situation); Drs. T. Urell & C. Lyon against socialized medicine; Conservative writers Joseph Sobran & Sam Wells; GEnie Management on new FCC cost increases threatening computer services; Libertarian Party platform; Republican Liberty Caucus; R.H. Martin on Japan, Health Costs & Political Correctness on the Right; & Prometheus-award winning fiction by Science Fiction authors J.N.Schulman & V.Koman.
