Event of the city

Would like to do a boat tour in the Bosphorus with fellow net surfers who happen to be in Istanbul at the same time as you are ? Sounds cool ?

A boat tour in the Bosphorus is traditional, something almost every traveler does when visiting Istanbul. If you can do the tour on a Saturday then chances are that other surfers will also be in the boat.

Here's how it goes:

The boat leaves at 10.35 A.M. The trip costs about USD 2 (American dollars). It takes about an hour and a half to go down the Bosphorus. The last stop at the Bosphorus is Anadolu Kavagi where the boat will stop for two hours for lunch break (lunch is not included in the price and there are many restaurants and food outlets where you can have lunch) The boat takes an hour and a half to go back to the city center, Eminonu. No reservations needed.

How to meet other surfers

All you need to do is to send me a message stating which Saturday you would like to do the tour and to take the scheluded boat of Turkish Maritime lines (public transportation usually crowded by tourists) . If there is more than one mail reaching me for the same date then I'll let you know that some other people will also be in the boat and you'll meet them at the ticket counter.

Disclaimer notice:

This is NOT an organized tour, I do not assume any responsibilities regarding this event. You are not guaranteed that there will be some other surfers even if they say so. Also the boat trip may be cancelled due to bad wheather, though chances are smaller than one percent. Do not make any travel plans having such a meeting in mind. Simply do it if you are already decided to do a Bosphorus tour.

The whole idea is to meet surfers you otherwise wouldn't and have a chat on the boat. May be you'll exchange travel stories or a few cool URLs.
