External Airgun Ballisitcs

As promised, here're the results to date of my playing about with various .177s. The table comprises results of my own shooting experiments (homemade long baseline acoustic chronograph) and numbers "borrowed" from online sources (e.g., StraightShooters'). I hope the formatting comes thru not unreadably mangled.

Abbreviations/Formulas

P = pointed
WC = wadcutter or flat head

BC = ballistic coefficient (subsonic) = W / (38300 x Cd x caliber^2)
W = weight (grains)
Cd = drag coefficient = (8 x drag) / (pi x caliber^2 x airdensity x V^2)
= W / (38300 x BC x caliber^2) = 0.5 for sphere (Reynolds# ~1500)
