Welcome to Utah Rockhounding!

You simply couldn't ask for a better place on earth to live if you are a rockhound. The diverse geological features of Utah provide the mineral and fossil collector with an endless variety of places to go and specimens to collect.

It is my hope that the information I have published here will be useful to both the novice and experienced rockhound alike. I have compiled a fairly large amount of data on specific places in Utah to collect as well as some information on minerals in general.

========== 03/10/2008 ========== The forum has been migrated to Yuku now. I hope that this will clear up some of the issues that were experienced by new users attempting to get access to the boards. ========== 02/29/2008 ========== Having problems with the Forum? It seems that since Yuku has taken over EzBoard, it is very difficult for new Yuku accounts to be able to access legacy EzBoard forums. I even tried to create an account for my wife and could not gain access. I have applied to have the board migrated to Yuku so hopefully when this happens it will alleviate these issues. Hang tight and be patient! I know that some new users have been able (with some difficulty) to get access to the board. If you have any insights, please share. ========== 02/16/2008 ========== I have obtained few new specimens and have posted them to the gallery. I just got a very nice aragonite from Ophir, Utah. There is also a mesolite and a real nice cavansite both from Poona, India and a very pretty little mimetite from Arizona. Check them out if your interested!
