Group Fitness Description of Classes

Cardio-Based Programs
Cardio Challenge - No choreography, just intense agility speed and strengthening drills. Guaranteed to improve cardiovascular endurance, athletic performance and muscle tone.
Cardio Kickbox - This cardio format will vary from choreography to circuits, boxing to strength equipment. Don't miss this ‘kick-butt' workout!
Cardio Dance Fusion - The Cardio format bumps your output up a notch or 10 from Total Funk Fusion.
Kickbox Combat - Increase full-body power and sharpen technique with these martial arts-based kickbox formats. Great self-defense tools to keep you safe on the street!
PhysioBALL Fun- Anything goes with the large resist-a-ball from cardio to strength to core focus. A must in your weekly fitness regimen!
StepTacular! - Combine step choreography with power-based moves. This challenging workout will push your body to the limit!
Surfboard Glide - Gliding® incorporates multi-muscle recruitment while engaging core stabilization. Specially designed sliding discs allow for cardio, strength and core-based formats of full-body effort.
Total Funk Fusion - No matter what your dance experience, you'll have some fun, learn some moves and get a great cardio workout! This provides optional performance opportunities.
Urban Step - Big City moves, rockin' music and creative choreography welcome the step lover for this high cardio-based workout you'll remember the day after!
Zumba® - Latest Latin dance trends from Miami from marenge to mambo, flamenco to salsa, you will feel the core connect and quads burn from continuous dance play.
Core Programs
Core Express 1000 - By the end of this 20-minute workout, you will have completed nearly 1000 repetitions targeting the core from shoulders to glutes. Jump in between classes.
Pilates Tradition - From the originator Joseph Pilates, take the time to relearn breathing, core recruitment, lengthening & strengthening, and general body awareness. Intensity builds across the hour as you focus on the moment.
CORE Fusion – Concentrated core moves fusing use of various props to strengthen and lengthen the entire body from the core out.
Endurance Sport Programs
Indoor Row - Intensity and power are mastered on the indoor erg where the goal is to last the distance; easier said than done! Try this tremendous full-body workout.
Indoor Ride - Endurance, strength and power on the indoor spinner for a non-impact workout, and viable cross-train for outdoor development. All levels welcome.
Indoor Ride-N-Row - Take on the multi-sport endurance challenge, moving from the spin bike to the erg during this hour format. Even a treadmill can mix in the fix!
Stroke Club - Swim stroke development with a coach on deck for the recreational swimmer or competitive triathlete. This is a powerful environment for fast results for FREE.
Tri Club - 1.5 hour timeslot of a 30-min swim/30-min bike/30-min run focus. Learn progressive technique, transition, and drills during this efficient workout!
Water Fitness Programs
Aqua Fit - Cardiovascular fitness, core strength, and muscle tone taken to the water! FIT focuses on endurance and cardiovascular output, for all levels.
Aqua Tone - Lengthen and strengthen in the pool using a variety of water-based props to add resistance. All levels welcome.
Mind/Body Flexibility Programs
Gentle YOGA – Restorative yoga into the night is the perfect transition towards bed. This 1.25 hr format welcomes all levels.
Power Yoga - Ashtanga format takes body balance, flexibility, strength and relaxation to higher levels in a sweat inducing mind-body format. All levels welcome.
Sun/Moon YOGA - Hatha Yoga format is part power, part restorative. This class will challenge and delightfully relax the full body and mind. All levels welcome!
Yoga Flow - Challenging mind-body flow format that incorporates breathing and mindfulness for a complete yoga experience. Sculpt a leaner and stronger body while releasing stress and fatigue.
Yoga-lates - Core-based flow class to enhance body balance, flexibility, strength and relaxation, through various postures and breathing techniques. There will be extra attention to core strength. All levels welcome.
Resistance Training Programs
Reps - Periodized resistance for maximal results long-term. You will cycle through repetitions of endurance, max strength, stabilization and power by using bars, free-weights, balls, bands & more.
Note: The REPS instructor team coordinates class formats to maximize your progress month to month. This program is unique to the JCC.
Special Populations (SP) Programs
SP Fitness - This is a 45-minute safe and effective workout for the active older adult, injury rehab participant, mom-to-be and more. The instructor will meet you following your warm-up on Fitness Studio equipment.
SP AquaFit - This 45-minute modified cardiovascular and strength based format in the pool is for the active older adult, injury rehab participant, mom-to-be and more.
