Silvignano

Mike and James return to Italy... 2000! Day one.

So, we are off again to, where else, Italy! This time, we are staying  at the casa we have rented from a good friend of Joanna's, Delia. The house is located in the very tiny village of Silvignano, outside of our beloved Spoleto.

My ensemble matches the entryway! How fortuitous!

Damn old keys...now, was it twice to the left or to the right?

There! Well, don't just stand there all agawk. Come on in!

Oh my! Isn't this nice? What lovely things! Mickey wastes no time finding a throne. He is rather "kingly", don't you think?
Delia's casa is spectaculare! Four floors of deluxe living for two weeks. Here is the view from the back of the casa, overlooking the valley below.
The view of the terrace above was taken from this loggia, which is undergoing renovation. It was Sunday and the workers are not on the site. Otherwise they would have chucked us out of the place with nary a by your leave!

Oh how I wish we could have a loggia!

In order to get to Delia's one must travel through the arch and past the cement mixer. Italy is constantly under repair! Just like Mike and James' Utah home.

(BTW, the kitchen is finally done.

Hallelujah)

Christiane and her friend, Ellen explore the ruins next to Casa Delia. (The sign on the door says, Edifico Pericoloso which I think means, "about to come tumbling down any second..."
