About Me

Julia L. Nielsen is a mother of three wonderful, active children and who spends much of her time at home with them as well as freelance writing for magazines, both on-line and in print, websites and writing the next big novel. She is an avid reader as well and knew she wanted to be a writer at the young age of 8. She is a member of the League of Utah Writers and the Association of Writers and Writing Programs. She graduated from The Institute of Children’s Literature May, 2005.

Julia's first novel, Stepping Out of the Dark is now available through Chipmunka Publishing, located in London, England in 2006. Her second novel and the second YA book in a her Paula’s Choice Trilogy, Paula’s Choice: Trials of the Heart, is now being shopped around to publishers. The first book, Paula’s Choice: On the Wings of Faith has been released with PublishAmerica, of which Julia is trying to get her rights back, after learning of their deceptive practice.

The first book in her and her father's YA fantasy series, the much anticipated, The Crystal Locket: The Gateway to the Portals of Time,  will be released fall, 2007, with Brushfire Press. She has published articles with national and international magazines, such as Girls Life, Tots to Teens, The Spotter, Dragonfire and Daughters, as well as done copywriting for many websites. She hopes to reach her readers by giving them, literally, a piece of her mind, along with her imagination and love of words.
