If I Could

If I could take happiness and bottle it, 
I would place pretty red ribbon around it
and give it to you as a gift.

If I could, I would make the sky turn blue and
 take away your awful pain, that is what I would do.
I would wipe away the tears and make you free again.

If I could, I would steal
the sunset and let you see the beauty anytime.
If I could, I would take you away, and make you mine.

But since I cannot,
I vow to make you safe and content, until you die.
I vow to be there for you, by your side.

I vow to hold you in my arms and sing you a lullaby.
I vow to remember you always, wherever I may be,
I vow to love you endlessly.
