The ilo256 offers decent sound quality and good features for the price;
however, its user interface leaves much to be desired, and its
construction quality is marginal--in particular, the headphone jack is
susceptible to failure. Read my full

RaveSetup
RaveSetup lets you configure everything available from your ilo
player's menus on one easy screen--plus a few settings that are not
available from the menus (such as the FM and voice recording sampling
rate).
RaveSetup works with both the original (1.017) and updated (2.054)
ilo firmware versions.

Taking It Apart

disassembled my ilo256 and (sort of) fixed the left-channel-goes-dead
