TOP SECRET ADVENTURE -- WEEK THREE REPORT
Week #3:
THANKS to all who are participating ... we have a TOTAL OF 1,183.5 MILES:
American Team: 1,069 miles AND Chinese Team: 114.5
Several Chinese friends have e-mailed me this week and tell me they will participate so more miles should be coming from that team soon.
One very exciting thing, is the report from a teacher at Nanjing University, who is one of the adult leaders of the SUNSHINE Project, telling me that the teachers and students at the Gao Chun School for the deaf students will all participate in the Project -- they will be a great help to us in reaching our goal of 7,000 miles.
This is truly a Project full of LOVE ... Love for Ken/Smiley; Love for others (the deaf children) and LOVE for yourself.
The hand sign for "I Love You" is on the wall of the Gao Chun school where the children perform for us everytime we visit there. I like to give this "sign" to my grandchildren after I walk them to school ... it's a good way to start the day to know you are loved. We'll be giving lots of "I Love You" hand signs on SMILEY's FUN RUN!!!
I've appreciated receiving messages about the positive effect of physical exercise in individual lives ... one young woman saying that she feels more active in her work and more refreshed. Others have commented on the distance. I know that seven miles may be the longest you have ever run at one time ... I know it will be hard, but that is why we are training now, so we can do it and have a good experience. The best part will be feelings of success in reaching a goal and accomplishing something hard! Together we can do it!!
When you report your miles, let me know what city you will be in "running" for SMILEY's FUN RUN. I know that there will be runners in Nanjing, Guangzhou, Shanghai, and Beijing. What other cities?
"Move It" -- this is our "motto" It is also one of Ken's nicknames. The people he plays basketball with call him "Move It" because he is always calling to them to "move it" as they play "hoops". You will see in the following article that "moving it" (walking, jogging,) is one of things suggested by two American doctors to keep our HEART HEALTHY!!! What do you Chinese doctors think about these 10 suggestions?
Thanks again to all of you for your participation. Have a good week and "move it"!
I LOVE YOU,
Miss Becky
